I have a Vortex 7-in-1 that doesn't have a toast setting. I, on the other hand, use it to make toast. The programs are simply convenient ways to select the best temperature and time combinations for specific applications, but I rarely use them. To toast bread, keep a close eye on the time and turn the bread over frequently, as the underside will not brown otherwise. Our family's favorite toasted cheese sandwiches are made in the Air Fryer. I spray one side of the bread with olive oil (you could also use butter), spread mayonnaise or other dressing on the other side, and sandwich the cheese and whatever else I want, such as thin tomato slices, between two slices of bread. I place it in the oven, select Air Fryer, set the timer for 2 minutes, and turn on the light to keep an eye on it. While the oven is preheating, one side should be sufficiently toasted. heating. I bought this item and wish I had read more of the reviews before buying it. When I opened the item box, I expected to smell something new, but all I got was a plastic odor. I ran the test as directed on the package, and the entire house smelled strongly of toxic plastic. For an entire day, my house reeked like this. I ran again with a few fresh potatoes, but the plastic smell was still pervasive throughout the house. The potatoes cooked fine, but they had an unpleasant metallic flavor, so I had to discard them. I tried again, but the smell of plastic lingered. I sent an email to the company but did not receive a response. Unfortunately, I had to return this item, which I despised doing, but I don't believe the plastic odor would have gone away despite my best efforts.

A ceramic coated air fryer or a teflon coated air fryer with no BPA can be purchased for a similar price. On the box, there is a warning label that you can see.
