They were crispy because they were cooked quickly. My 5-year-old son, who frequently criticizes the food I prepare, suggested that I open a restaurant. That's a lot of praise coming from her. I've used the air fryer to cook frozen chicken and fish, as well as reheated pizza for a crisp crust, and I love how easy it is to clean. I only gave it three stars in the easy to clean section because my unit has a very sharp piece on the basket portion that I cut myself on when cleaning it for the first time, which appears to be a manufacturing defect. I'm not sure if I was the only one who received one with a sharp edge or if this is a common problem with this unit.
