Questions & Answers

What are the materials used to make the gaskets? Some places say silicone, while others say rubber. ?

Hello. The gaskets are made of odorless silicone that is approved for use in food.

Is the top made of ceramic or plastic? (I see there's a silicon gasket and stainless steel hinges)?

Tops made of plastic. It also comes with an extra set of keys. These have made me very happy. It's what I use to make kombucha. It's a very secure fit. Fermentation will go smoothly.

What is the closed height of these bottles?

Swing-back chairs are what they're known as. A quick Google search reveals that swing-top bottles are the most popular. Swing the top of the bottle onto the top of the bottle to close it. Then squeezing the clasp shut.

Are these bottles suitable for fermenting champagne?

I'm not sure, but I did use them to make Ginger Beer, which is fermented in a larger vessel then transferred to the smaller bottles and fermented for another 4 days before chilling them to stop the fermentation. Since then, I've learned to make syrups for sodas, and I currently use them to store the syrups.

Great bottles that are very sturdy and do not leak. I really like the funnel and stickers that came with it. I used my own chalk marker because the chalk marker I had wasn't very good. I'll definitely be ordering more so that I can make more extracts.

It's not watertight

Carbonation is not a good thing. The bottles arrived just in time for the fermentation to move on to the next stage. After pouring the contents into the bottles, I discovered that two of the gaskets were leaking. I swapped them out because I had spares, and there were no leaks. br>br>The issue arose after the carbonation process began. Three of the six bottles had developed a seal around the gaskets and were leaking. This was only after a few hours, so who knows how the rest of the day will go.

Glass bottles with a swing top by Willdan

This is fantastic. It's simple to use, and cleaning it with a bottle brush is simple. I like how you use a gasket. It has a good seal. I use them to ferment drinks, which go well with honey bourbon, and the pressure keeps them sealed. The clip close is simple to use and nearly perfect. br>I'm a huge fan of these bottles. Oh, sure, I came to a halt on one and bounced a couple of times. There will be no spills or breaks. That's a deal you can't pass up. This is my second order, and if I keep going at this pace, I'll soon have more.

For kombucha, this is ideal

It would be nice if it came with a brush for cleaning the inside of the bottle. But, hey, they're inexpensive and easy to come by. I really like how well the funnel works and that it comes with extra rings. It even came with labels and a marker for labeling the contents, but don't get it wet because it will run away with even condensation. In the near future, I will purchase again.

These bottles appear to be of excellent quality, which I appreciated, but one of them broke, so I contacted the seller for a replacement, and he sent me a link to Amazon support, where I received a partial refund for the bottle. Overall, I am very pleased with the bottles, the seller, and Amazon, and I would recommend it, particularly for Kombucha.
