I don't think there's any reason why it shouldn't be done. In my master bathroom, I use mine to store bath salts. It's in a large glass apothecary jar, complete with the scoop. It's been over a year since I purchased it, and it's still going strong! I hope this information assists you in making your choice. Thank you for your interest.
It's only given a light coat of olive oil, which is something you should do with all of your olive wood kitchen utensils. Do this every now and then, especially if you wash them with water on a regular basis to keep them looking new and fresh. Greetings, Holy Land Market, br>br>br>br>br>br>br>br>br>br>br>b
It's about 5 inches wide, but it varies slightly.
It's only about a cup's worth. 3/4 cup, perhaps

The wood is beautiful, and the scooper is a good size. This purchase has made me very happy. My bath salts are made with it. More will be purchased.
I keep it in a glass jar with epsom bath salts to keep it fresh. It looks great, performs admirably, and is the perfect size for the job.
Beautiful and of very high quality. I suppose I expected something cheap and flimsy for the price, but when I opened the package, I was pleasantly surprised.
too small.
as stated in the description.
I used it to scoop my pink bath sea salts, and the end of it is now covered in mold. I bought it on 9/12/16 and had to throw it out in less than 2 months because it cracked due to the rapid drying. I never got it wet and it dried out on its own, so it's not a high-quality wood product.
(Beautiful wood) - It far exceeded my expectations. a true gem!.
