When I made Creole Jambalaya, this spatula came in handy for rolling the rice from bottom to top while it was cooking. For the job, it's good and sturdy.
The item in question was not a Berard slotted spoon. It was made of bamboo and did not appear to be the same as the picture.
This spoon is one of my favorites. It's nearly too beautiful to use! It's stunning!.
Because the wood is dense, it does not absorb odors or bacteria. I've avoided wooden spoons in the past, but the Berard Olive Wood products are fantastic. These are ideal because I have LeCreuset cookware and don't want to ruin it by using metal spoons.
The wood had been marblinged with an unappealing grey hue. Overall, the shape was a little wonky. It looked like something I'd carve (though I'm not very good at carving).
They are very useful in my kitchen. To keep them rich, I rub them with olive oil every now and then.
