Questions & Answers
Before using them, I oiled them with a special oil for wooden bowls. I only use the oil now when they start to look a little parched. I hope this has been of assistance.
I can't tell if these have been coated or not. It's natural wood that's been treated with food-grade oil.
I wouldn't use these bowls for hot food because they're made of wood. I've only used these for foods that are cold or room temperature.

Please keep in mind that these bowls are unfinished and will need to be seasoned (either with wood oil or mineral oil) after purchase. br>br>When the bowls arrived, I was very pleased with them because they are very attractive. As soon as I started preparing them for use, I applied a first coat of mineral oil. Before putting them to use, I planned to rinse and season them once a day for a week. (After that, I planned to season them once a week for a month, then once a month after that. ) )br>br>When I was called to the phone on the third day of seasoning, I had just poured about two tablespoons of mineral oil into each of the bowls. I returned to wipe the mineral oil inside and out of the bowls after it had sat for about five minutes. Oil stains were visible on the counter when I lifted the bowls from it. I noticed that the mineral oil had seeped through the bottoms of the bowls when I looked at them. br>br>After finishing seasoning the bowls and letting them sit for about four hours, I decided to fill them with water to see if they were leaking or if some of the oil had spilled. Both bowls were leaking water. br>br> br>br>I've come to the conclusion that if mineral oil and water can leak through the bottom of the bowl, then so can food oils if I use them for salads. These bowls will not be used in my home because food oil deposits in the bottom of the bowl will lead to bacteria growth over time (which is why salad bowls should not be seasoned with food oils).
They're lovely bowls, with beautiful wood grains, but I won't be serving salads in them. I bought these bowels for my crystals and stones, which I've been getting a lot of, and they'll help my stones contain their natural energy because they're both from the earth and wood is a natural element. The bowls are medium in size, which is ideal for my needs. br>I was very pleased with the product and will order from Ironwood Gourmet again if I require additional items.
These bowls are fantastic. I now have eight of them, each with its own large salad bowl, and they're all quite lovely. They've made me very happy.
I really like these bowls, and I'm going to keep them, but they're much smaller than I imagined!.
I had two, but one of them cracked despite the fact that it was properly cared for with coconut oil. /br>br>OIL YOUR WOOD BOWLS FOLKSbr>(but, unfortunately, this isn't always enough. ) )br>br>Wish I had two, but I'm not willing to take the risk of losing another one.
I purchased eight of these for casual dinner parties. The acacia wood is beautiful, and the shape is perfect. It can hold a large salad portion. If the bowl tips over, it has a rim on the inside to keep the dressing in place.
These bowls arrived safely and in perfect condition - thank you! despite the fact that they were crammed into their mailbox in a haphazard manner br>Their manufacturing quality, size, and finish meet or exceed expectations. br>A minor enhancement would be to remove the 'inside top lip or rim' from each bowl - However, this is merely a subjective opinion.
Perfect.
