Questions & Answers

I just got my tea maker, and the indicator light isn't turning on, but the base is getting hot. Has anyone else had this problem?

It's likely to be effective. Mine works, but I have to put it in a dark corner to see it. In any case, unplug it after it has completed its task, which should be within ten minutes. In the range of 12 minutes. Bend two jumbo paper clips so that they lie flat in the tea bucket but stick down about 1/2 inch through the small hole to improve tea steeping in this device. This allows the tea bucket to fill up with hot water, allowing the tea bags to steep. Otherwise, the hole is too large, and the hot water quickly runs out, wetting but not truly steeping the tea bags. She's a fantastic tea-drinker thanks to this "hack." a maker with a small footprint on the counter

Does it specify the amount of loose tea to use for a full pitcher?

4 tsp is how much we use. I cut open the packets and store the loose tea in an airtight container, and it comes out perfect every time. China Mist is the best! Using the entire packet wastes tea and does not improve the flavor of iced tea.

What's the best way to make tea sweeter?

After you've finished brewing the tea, add it in.

Is it not working for you?

Mine works, but every now and then it's already on when I plug it in, so I just let it do what it needs to do and then it turns off, and it works fine when I turn it back on.

If you want strong tea, ignore the instructions
3/5

I had hoped, like other customers, that this would have a lever that would allow you to control the brewing time, and I was about to throw it out when my husband figured out how to make the strong tea that I like: fill the machine with water, but do not fill the pitcher. Allow the machine to brew until the water level reaches the bottom, then add more water and allow it to brew once more. Continue until you have a total of 2 quarts of tea. While the tea is still hot, add the sugar so that it melts and mixes with the tea. Enjoy a refreshing iced tea that is both tasty and strong.

Sweet tea made simple in the South!   We love how convenient and easy it is to use this ice tea maker
5/5

To make sweet tea in the South, follow these instructions. Pour cold water into the reservoir after filling the pitcher to the waterline. Toss in a third to half cup of sugar in the pitcher. To liquefy the sugar, add just enough hot water from your tap. If you're making a simple syrup, stir it thoroughly, as the sugar may take 5 to 10 minutes to dissolve completely in the hot water. Place five teabags in the brewing basket and turn it on after the sugar has dissolved. Add ice to the water line in the picture and leave the simple syrup sugar in the bottom of the picture beneath the ice. It's that easy; once the tea has brewed, stir it with a long spoon and place it in the refrigerator. All day long, you'll be sipping sweet tea! This ice tea maker comes highly recommended by me.

Instead of buying this, make it with a lid and a pan like Grandma did

I wish it worked like Mr. Coffee's Original Ice Tea Maker - A valve on an older model prevented the water from simply running through the tea bags - You were able to steep the tea before pouring it into the photograph - This machine produces a weak, tasteless cup of tea - I wished I could return it, but I was unable to do so due to the fact that the return window had passed me by.

It's adequate for what it is and how much it costs
4/5

Before I purchased this product, I read other reviews in which people complained about weak tea and the steeper's lack of an adjuster like the older model. I enjoy strong tea and grew up making it on the stove. We live in a world where complaining is easier than finding a solution and sharing it with others. I've decided to go with the latter option. br>Tea with a lot of caffeine - Fill the pitcher halfway with water, then pour it into the tea maker. Remove everything from the pitcher. Fill the steeper basket halfway with tea bags. Brew tea. Pour the tea bags from the steeper basket into the warm tea in the pitcher and set aside for 15 minutes after the tea has finished brewing. (Do not stir while the tea bags are in the pitcher; otherwise, tea residue will accumulate at the bottom of the pitcher and glasses. ) Remove the bags after 15 minutes of sitting in the warm liquid and throw them away. Then, if desired, stir in a small amount of sugar to the warm tea. (Adding the sugar while the tea is still hot helps it dissolve and prevents granulated ice tea. ) Fill the pitcher halfway with ice. You now have ice tea with a lot of punch. Repeat the process with more bags if it is still not strong enough. If this is too much trouble for you, I'm sure there's a drive-through nearby that serves tea to the lazy. br>Have fun making tea!.

Every time, it makes a perfect pitcher of iced tea! We needed to replace our old Mr
5/5

Coffee Iced Tea Maker, which had served us well for over a decade. This is a new model because it does not appear or function in the same way as our previous model, but it still works. I've already used this machine to make several pitchers of tea, and it's very simple to operate. The tea tastes exactly like it did when we used our previous iced tea maker. br>br>My family and I enjoy brewed iced tea, and I often make several batches at once. There's one that's sweetened, one that's unsweetened, and one that's flavored. Fill the large pitcher halfway with water before using this machine. It has a fill line that indicates how much water to add, and you then pour it into the brewing machine at the very top. After that, fill the large pitcher with ice until it reaches the ice fill line. You have the option of adding sugar or a sweetener with the ice or after the tea has been brewed. Add it with the ice, then cover with the brewing lid and add several tea bags of your choice (I use the large size tea bags and add about 3-4). There were four of them. Place the pitcher against the brewing machine, with the lid opening facing the machine, as this is where the water will enter the pitcher. It'll start brewing as soon as you turn it on. The Iced Tea is ready in a matter of minutes. br>br>Remove the brewing lid and replace it with the serving lid when the brew is finished. You can either throw the tea bags away or put them in the pitcher, which is what I prefer. When I'm ready to discard the tea bags, I'll either refrigerate the pitcher or pour the tea into a new pitcher if I'm making another batch. Then begin again from the beginning. It's incredibly simple and quick!br>br>Having this machine is fantastic if you enjoy making your own iced tea. I like that I can make a nice flavored tea batch by combining regular tea with different flavors such as peach or raspberry. Mr. Coffee is a fantastic brand that I would recommend to anyone who is interested in giving it a try for the first time or replacing an older model. Not to mention the low cost.

When a product performs flawlessly, it should be ignored
3/5

If something isn't broken, don't attempt to fix it. For years, I used a Mr. Coffee Iced Tea Maker and eventually needed to replace it. However, the brewing process has changed and is no longer the same. There used to be a lever on the side of the brew basket, and the water would flow much more slowly and collect in the basket, allowing the tea to steep. I assumed the one I just got was defective, and the replacement is exactly the same. There is no way to change the amount of time the water stays in the basket by using a lever. Unless you double the amount of tea bags, the water simply passes through and the tea is weak. I was able to find exactly what I was looking for elsewhere and am returning both my original and replacement purchases. I've included photos of what I received versus what I expected. The blue version is the one I'm returning, while the yellow version is one I found somewhere else. Thank you for your quick response to my inquiry.
