Questions & Answers

Is it a burr grinder with a conical burr?

Whether it's flat or conical is a question that needs to be addressed. It makes no difference at all. There are flat burr grinders for $3,000 on the market. This is not an espresso machine, by the way. Give it a shot and see what happens.

This isn't a conical burr, according to what I've been told. Can someone who isn't connected to this seller tell me if it's conical or flat like the other Cuisinarts?

The different types of burrs are causing some confusion. This method employs a "block" burr, which resembles flat burrs in appearance but is far inferior. Although flat burrs are theoretically the most consistent, conical burrs can perform just as well in high-quality grinders. br>br>Block burrs are inferior to blade grinders in terms of quality.

Is it acceptable to put a small amount of coffee (e.g., 1 cup) in the hopper? , enough for one cup) and then set the timer to stop when the hopper is empty?

Yes. It isn't an issue at all. The motor will not run unless the cup is in place, according to a safety switch in the unit's foot. Remove the collection cup if the machine is still running after the coffee has been removed from the hopper. The motor will no longer run unnecessarily as a result of this action.

Is it possible to grind grains with it?

This machine has proven to be a hard worker! I use it to grind whole oats with hulls (and occasionally sunflower seeds) twice a day to make horse feed. I grind four different kinds of grains. 5 cups per feeding, coarse setting, and it's only now, after almost 2 1/2 years, getting a little dull and heating up to the point where it quits on me near the end of the 5th cup. Even though the first one is still working, I'm getting ready to make another purchase. It's just that it's not quite as good as it could be. I've never had a bad experience with it! I've been very pleased with it, despite the fact that I haven't been using it for its intended purpose.

A significant portion of product reviews, whether positive or negative, are subjective declarations of personal preferences that are either met or ignored. It's debatable what people like and what they prefer. What is undeniable is the fact that the grinder I bought stopped working 10 weeks after I first started using it. The words "dead," "zero," and "nothing" come to br>br>I had been grinding a precise amount of beans, enough to make one mug of coffee. Coffee is consumed on a daily basis. After each use, I cleaned the grind chamber thoroughly, as well as the bean hopper, burr grinding plates, and grind release area once a week. br>br>This product, the Cuisinart DBM-100, is a Cuisinart DBM-100. The 8 Supreme Grind Automatic Burr Mill has been chastised for a long time because of:
- During operation, the machine makes a lot of noise. I found it to be unacceptably loud, even without using a decibel meter to measure it. But that's just my viewpoint.
- The grind size varies depending on the setting: For me, it's not a big deal, but that's because I'm a little picky. br>- The grinding times aren't consistent: The burr mill would regularly stop before completely grinding the 35g of beans that I had pre-ground, even when set for the longest grinding time. measured. Because I had never relied on this feature before, the fact that it frequently failed to function was an annoyance but not a critical feature for me. br>br>While this machine's mediocre performance left me unsatisfied, I was able to make a decent cup of coffee with the fresh grounds it produced ineptly. Despite its numerous flaws, I would not have given this product a positive review if it had at least continued to function. I could have put up with the sub-standard living conditions. entry- level- grinder flaws that plague this machine, which are to be expected at this price point. br>br>That the Cuisinart DBM-XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX The fact that the 8 Supreme Grind Automatic Burr Mill utterly failed after such a short period of light use and regular care, and that so many others reported having had a similar experience, are facts that I cannot ignore. These are some facts that I believe you should think about before making this purchase, my friends.

Doesn't last long, is expensive to replace, and is difficult to repair under warranty
3/5

After 8 months of light use, the motor failed. It comes with an 18-month warranty, but all shipping and handling costs are the responsibility of the customer. It's been difficult to get in touch with the company using the phone number they provided to request warranty repair or replacement. If my experience improves, I will update this review and notify you. Until it died, the product performed admirably.

It's just not worth it
3/5

I bought the first one in November 2017 to replace the ten-year-old one that had finally given up the ghost. That one lasted until March of the following year. On March 22nd, 2018, I received a replacement. On May 10, 2018, it passed away. I got in touch with the seller and he was extremely helpful. who informed me that I would have to return this unit at my expense so that they could investigate why it had died - I paid $20 for this. They even inquired as to the type of beans I was grinding. Starbucks beans, it appears, are too greasy for it, clogging it. Isn't that something that the instructions already state? I couldn't find anything like that. I am extremely dissatisfied with having to pay to return a defective product for the second time; the first time, I had to cut the cord and pay $10. I now have $30 in my pocket. 52 into a grinder that can be used in place of the old one. If and when this is resolved - IF it is resolved at all - I'm never going to buy another Cuisinart Grinder. They have a serious problem with customer service!.

It's fantastic! If it isn't broken, don't fix it, as the saying goes
5/5

Although it was broken in this case, it lasted an incredible eight years! So we needed to replace it, and we figured why not use the same unit since we were having such good luck with it grinding our daily coffee? This is a very nice burr mill that we've used a lot over the years, and now we're replacing it with a brand new unit that's identical to the old one, in the hopes of getting another 8-year life out of it. It's been ten years since I've been out of it. br>br>Why do we like it so much? br>* The majority of the housing is made of gleaming stainless steel. br>* A half-pound of beans is stored in the hopper on top. br>* For each type of grind, you can choose from six different settings. br>* For our French Press coffee, it works great with a coarse grind and is very consistent. br>* You press the button, and it grinds for a while before stopping. br>* It's a simple process to figure out what grind you like, how much you want, and what setting you prefer, and then all you have to do is decide what kind of bean you want in there. It does the rest. br>* It's relatively easy to clean up, doesn't take up a lot of space, and best of all, it works great and does it all quickly. br>br>If we had to say anything negative about it, we'd say it's loud, but then again, what isn't loud when it comes to grinding coffee via electricity if you aren't hand grinding? br>br>We're happy with the product; otherwise, we wouldn't have bought a second one of the same type eight years later. Plus, other people must think the same way because the company is still producing the same model after eight years! I hope you enjoy it if you get one!.

Also, the "Coffee Grinder Cleaning Brush" comes highly recommended
5/5

Over the last decade or so, I've become a coffee snob, and I had NO IDEA that a burr grinder could make such a huge difference in the flavor of my Morning Addiction. OMG. I'm not sure how I survived without it. "Coffee Grinder Cleaning Brush with Heavy Wood Handle" is also recommended. Natural Bristles Wood Dusting Espresso brush Accessories for Bean Grain Coffee Tool Barista Home Kitchen" to aid in the removal of all of the grounds from the plastic chamber. Cross- Refer to the brush review, which is also fantastic and helps with the coffee's static tendencies. You can only do so much by tapping the chamber, and having so much coffee stuck in there will irritate you, so order the brush right away. When you grind the coffee, you'll see what I'm talking about. Please accept my heartfelt gratitude.
