The following is from the listing: "USER- DESIGN WITH FRIENDS IN MIND - These dipping bowls are strong, long-lasting, and easy to stack. It's simple to clean in the dishwasher. These ramekins with the appropriate depth can hold dips or desserts, making them ideal for the elderly or children. "br>br>These are easily broken because of their thinness. For years, I've used ceramic ramekins as pet dishes, and I've dropped them hundreds of times (usually only a few inches). I've never had them shatter like this with even the tiniest "drop" (e. g. , a drop from a high shelf). slipping on the tile from a rug). What would normally result in no damage or a small chip in a porcelain ramekin results in these shattering and ending up all over the kitchen, requiring us to evacuate all of the pets so they don't try to eat the food with bits of dish mixed in. After the second shattering, I'm switching brands because the drama is too much for me. These aren't very stackable, either. They're strewn about in a haphazard manner. It's not a major issue, but I wouldn't use the term "stack well" in the description (rather, "stackable"). They'd be perfect if they were a little thicker and the base was a little narrower than the top so they could stack nicely. Because of their fragility, I don't think they're suitable for children or "the elderly," as the listing implies. They're also very slippery when they come out of the fridge and have developed some condensation. For feeble or small hands, a ribbed ramekin may be preferable. Despite this, they're super cute and reasonably priced ($16 at the time of writing), so I'll keep them in our collection.
These are for mini fruit pies that I purchased. When it comes to desserts, I am a sucker for anything small. These appear to be in good condition. I'm hoping they'll be able to withstand the test of time. br>Recent changes: Today I made my first mini pies, which turned out to be quite tasty.
Dishes are almost never chipped in my house. Mikasa, Corning, World Market, Corelle, and Fiesta are just a few of the brands available. no chips. However, two of the bowls chipped within a week. I believe it's because they don't nest; instead of stacking, they simply rest on top of one another, which looks sloppy (unlike the photo in the post). All- All of these are suitable for feeding the dog, but not for display or table use.
These were purchased to go with the mini casserole dishes that I had purchased. The two sets are a perfect match. I haven't used them to bake with, but I have used them to serve small finger foods. As other reviewers have mentioned, I had no problems stacking them for storage. They fit perfectly on a shelf in my cabinet.
I've only had these ramekins for a few days, but I've already used them twice to make crème brûlée; they're the perfect size for the recipe I use to fill each to the brim. My wife adores the colors, and the desserts are a hit with everyone. They're high-quality pieces that get the job done. A ramekin can be filled to just below the brim with five ounces of water.
It's oven-safe, and it's also great for storing ingredients. In addition, they make excellent snack bowls.
They arrived on time, which was important because I needed them before Thanksgiving, and shipping was quick. The quality of the product was not as high as I had hoped. Although the price was reasonable, it has already begun to chip after more than a month. Three of the six bowls have a chip in them, making them dangerous to use around children. I wouldn't serve Creme brûlées any longer, but it could be used as a side dish. br>br>However, they baked up beautifully and served me well when I needed them. However, don't expect them to last a long time.
The only thing that could make this product better is the ability to stack. They're lovely and well-made.
