These can be used in the oven because they are oven safe. I've used them up to 400 degrees, but a steamer pot should be fine because it's not as hot. After that, there will be no ice bath! When the temperature of ceramic changes from hot to cold, it will shatter.

I like that they have lids so that after I prepare the egg dish, I can leave it to set while I do other things and still have a tasty snack! If you enjoy eggs, check out acouplecooks' recipe. You can look it up on the internet. I follow the 13-minute procedure, but then add the seasonings and extras, stir everything together, and return to the oven for another 5 minutes. Exactly what I'm looking for!.
