Because the dishes are slightly tapered, I used a flexible sewing tape measure to measure 1/2" square to press against the bottom.

These were purchased to be used in mini chicken pot pies. They turned out perfectly and were simple to clean in the dishwasher or by hand.
I was taken aback by the positive feedback; These are of such poor quality that they cannot be used. It really should be a zero. The material on my 8 oz square ramekins had split when they arrived. Material separation on four of the eight containers, not broken during shipment. Unusable in every way. I'll see what I can do about attaching photos. If this obvious visible defect gets past their quality control, I'm going to have serious doubts about their entire process, including material safety.

However, I use it to hold my various tokens while playing board games. And I'm pleased to report that they're fantastic! I mean, I got eight of them for $20, which is a great deal for ceramic ramekins, and they look great on the table. They're the ideal depth and width for holding and grabbing all of the different types and quantities of tokens I need to keep organized on the table. br>br>They also stack into each other fairly easily for easy storage. In any case, they look great when I have a game set up on the table, and they keep all of the tokens from escaping. They can also be easily passed around for others to take tokens if necessary. I would strongly suggest it.
My husband emailed the company, and a replacement bowl was on its way to us in less than 24 hours. It arrived in perfect condition, with all eight pieces in place, including the chipped one, which I still use. These ramekins have such a nice shape to them. We've frozen things, baked things, and simply used them as dipping bowls with them, and they stack nicely in our cupboard. In a nutshell, they've passed every test, eaten every food, and gone through every trial we've given them. This purchase has exceeded my expectations; I would recommend it and purchase it again.
You don't realize how much you need them until you have a few. Au jus, crème brulee, ice cream, soufflé, chip dipping sauces, pudding, and more all benefit from the right proportion. At cookouts for'make your own' hamburgers and hot dogs, I've placed them on the table as condiment serving dishes. Seriously, you'll find yourself employing them on a daily basis.
These are exactly what I was looking for, and they match my other white porcelain square dishes perfectly. The seller responds quickly and provides excellent customer service (I wish more Amazon sellers were like them). Fruit, yogurt, queso, and salsa will fit perfectly in this container. Very sturdy, as if it came from a restaurant. While sitting on the sofa, I dropped something on the tile floors, which only slightly chipped the corner. I could have fixed it with glue and no one would have known it had chipped if I had had glue on hand - However, I was unable to locate one of the broken pieces in order to repair it.
