Because the pieces don't fit perfectly into each other, you can only stack up to three at a time. However, it was sufficient for the space I had available.
I got three on the first layer, then added a fourth in the middle (which was all I needed). If you carefully stacked them, you could fit them all in.
These are small 4 oz. ramekins that can be used to make individual custard or bread pudding servings. For constant gentle heat, I usually place them in an ovenproof pan with a "bain Marie" or boiling water halfway up the sides. I suppose you could steam them on top of the stove in a covered pot, but you'll need some sort of boiling water to keep them from overheating or cracking from the direct heat. I'm at a loss for words. I ordered these to make Lava Cake, but I'm sure they can be used for a variety of other things. Although we had never made Lava Cake before, the recipe called for Ramekins. This set of Ramekins came in a box large enough to hold all six, so I'll keep them in there when not in use. Even though we've used them four times, the cups fit easily into my oven on a cookie sheet and look exactly the same as they did when we first took them out of the box. Our cakes are simple to remove and to clean. I'd order from you again without a doubt. We like the price, and our Lava Cakes have turned out great so far!.

For my son, I bought these ramekins. On Christmas Eve, he wanted to make creme brûlée for his family, so he became a chef. They were enjoyable to work with, he said. I had a bad batch of these highly rated ramekins, to be sure. When I got them, I was so excited that I decided to make flan that night. I put four of the six ramekins in the microwave to make caramel sauce, and all four ramekins exploded with a loud bang within one minute of being in the microwave, leaving a HOT-looking mess. This product is microwave and oven proof up to 400 degrees, according to the box and description, but the batch I received was definitely lemons. I bought these because I enjoy baking mini cakes for my two grandchildren (4 and 7). They're also great at molding rice krispy treats. They can be used to bake eggs (just make sure the dish is well oiled with olive oil or butter before doing so). Obviously, they can be used in the oven. Safe to use in the microwave and in the dishwasher. They're ramekins, so they're small. For the sake of clarity, I've included a few photos. They're a bit heavy for their size, but they're made of bright white ceramic and are just the right size for my needs!
