Can you tell me how big the dial is?

There are two of them. Approximately 25 inches

What type of stainless steel does the probe have?

I believe it is stainless because a magnet does not stick to it, and it looks exactly like stainless (not chromed at all), and it does not rust. Thermometers made by Atkins are of excellent quality. As far as the probe is concerned, I doubt stainless wouldn't be used.

A flimsy clip holds the thermometer, and the thermometer itself The first time it was used, it was inaccurate.

It is easy to read because it is large

I have had meat thermometers that are much more effective. READING HAS NEVER BEEN ACCURATE. The trip was a complete waste of time and money.
