These kits contain tubes of wet wipes and tubes of tubes. There is no need to use harsh cleaning agents on surfaces that might have lead dust remaining on them because the wet wipes contain no lead. Wet wipes are tested for lead before use and are labeled accordingly. For example, you can just put a small amount of dirt (or paint chips) into the test tubes and watch the test. Perhaps you could shatter it and put the dust of the China into your tube or something in order to find out if your china is made with lead. It is a good product. I used it as instructed, sent the samples to the lab, received a report within ten days, and my results are detailed. Because of the positive results, I purchased 3 more kits, took more samples and received the results a week later. It made sense to see the results A low level of lead in the soil can be found some distance away from our old lead-based building Besides a painted shed, huge levels of lead (3,000 ppm) are under the peeling paint right next to it. It was made clear to me that we'll have to remove the soil next to the shed when we remove it. I believe the results are solid, so all in all it's a good product. In addition to dust and paint chips, the kit can be used to sample them.
