I don't know, to be honest. Designed by Tsubosan, the set was made in Japan. There are no certificates or calibration data included, which are both essential for ISO 9000 certification. 6 files are included in the set, each of which has a hardness of My needs are met by this application where I am able to estimate the hardness of a file by comparing them. It is not accurate to show what is shown. Fowler is not the person in the picture. The cheaper ones will be the same, so save your money by going with them. Make sure not to make the same mistakes I did, which cost me $40.
I have not had any problems with them so far. My only complaint is the fact that all of the documents inside the case are not in Greek or Latin. In any case, I wasn't in need of it.
This is a particularly good product, as each file is color coded and marked with the required hardness range
There is no need to go to the Heat Treatment shop to test the hardness of.
These files are a very good way to check if steel is hard enough after hardening.
Everything looks exactly like it did in the picture.
