Questions & Answers

Do the $50 kits contain more than one test?

The Checker is supplied with (2) cuvettes with caps, a starter kit for phosphate LR reagents for six tests (6 packets of powder reagents), and an instruction manual. In addition to reagents, you can also buy them separately. The HI713-reagent parts number is listed on the label

There is no restriction on the number of queries, but having more than two is an option. Could you please tell me how much ?

You will see the checker flash if the value of your sample is outside the range of the Checker HC.

This test can be used to determine how much phosphate is present in natural water sources, such as a lake or pond?

I believe that the Hanna HI-100 is true Water that is fresh or marine can be tested with the 713 Phosphate checker. It will only read up to 3 phosphates at the maximum concentration it can read. It is specifically designed for low phosphate levels. PPm = 0. Please note that it is an accurate estimate Depending on your needs, this may or may not be suitable for you. As long as you know the sample's phosphate concentration will be at or below 0 ppm, then its use in your tests will be justified. If you are looking for 6ppm, consider the Hanna HI-800 This URL Phosphorous checker is 736 URLs long. With this, you will be reading in a PPB format and it will read much more accurately. Using the phosphorus value, multiply it by 3 to convert it to phosphate ppm. The phosphate ppm concentration is calculated by taking 0.66 and dividing it by 1000. It is not possible to interchange the reagents between the two. If you're using one of these sites, you will need a box of reagent packs, regardless of your choice. You can find these here or at hannainst.com.

Whenever I run my checker, it does not show the "3 minute countdown timer" and just displays Is it possible to begin 04 right away? Does it sound broken to you?

You can skip the timer if you press and let go of the button. You must press and hold the button for up to three seconds to use the timer

Buy it and don't waste your money

You need to be aware! Upon purchasing this metter you will receive 4 phosphate packs , at the end of this package you will need to purchase an additional $26 pack of phosphate. Meter needs to be used in order to be useful. It is not possible to return it to Amazon. Returning it is not an option for them.

This is incorrect! We used this testing kit and received very different results each time within minutes of one another
3/5

As per the instructions, I follow them perfectly. In the kit, only a few packets of testing powder were included. It is, therefore, essential that you quickly re-write Order is essential. The first test I took told me I had a An additional test told me that I had phosphate of 03 (Target inaccurate and also lacking supplies.

Both fresh and salt water are compatible
5/5

Among other things, I use it as an aquarium, a fresh water aquarium, and a salt water Ensures consistency in I can now create one test kit rather than having to use multiple ones. Using this low range checker, you can identify phosphate levels between 0 and 100 The concentration is 5 parts per million. HI774 of this checker is made by Hanna Instruments in the so-called Marine version with ultra low range range 0-120. The HI717 High range version has a 9 ppm speed and a 0-speed capability A 30ppm reading.

I got what I expected
4/5

The instructions are clear, the form factor is convenient, and the procedure is simple enough In my opinion, the only reason why I cannot give it a perfect score is that the meter auto-shuts off a little bit too soon between calibration and measurement phases. I have only 60 seconds extra to remove the calibrated cuvette, open the reagent packet and pour in all the reagent (and getting reagent out of the corners of these packet is a bit tedious) and let it develop as instructed prior to replacing the cuvette. When you get the reagent in quickly, there will be enough time to perform the test IF you make any mistakes as I have a couple times, an additional 60 seconds would be helpful. On the other hand, they provide 2 cuvettes so you can use one for calibration and the other for measurements (although I would prefer to use the same one for calibration). In time, maybe I will be able to get used to this a little better.

It comes in a nice box with everything you need to test (though I'd like to add a As I was fed up with trying to read 10 shades of light blue for all the other tests I've purchased previously, I picked up this unit
5/5

I like that it comes in a nice box with all the tools you need (though I wish there were more than 6). I find that it is much easier to take than other tests, even though there is a slight learning curve. Based on online research and personal experience, these are some things to note The *br*- To ensure proper zeroing, keep the same vial for the blank and the test (if the glass has been stained or dirty, it will affect the gauge incorrectly). You should always wipe off the vial before blanking and reading - When the blanking is done, add the packet so that as soon as the powder is added, the mix can take place. When the unit has been on for two minutes, it shuts off, so it is best to get it I am unable to comment on how accurate this unit is compared to other tests or whether it is repeatable since I have not tested it. It is neither easy nor convenient for me to specify absolute numbers on my salt water tank, so I go for the relative ones instead. I can only think of one negative, getting the powder in is a bit of a pain but it's.

I would have liked to have seen more reagent included with this product
4/5

This is accurate. It comes with only 6 packets of reagent, and that is its only drawback. Nine dollars is the price of a pack of 25. A saltwater aquarium can be purchased for less than $200, much cheaper than any Amazon seller. It is easy to use, I already have other Hanna testing products, and I have compared this with chemical testers. when one gets an actual value and does not have to use a color decoder chart to essentially guess within a range of values.

Does exactly what it says, but results can be inaccurate
4/5

If you're looking for an aquarium piece of equipment, this is not it. The product is not necessary if you're purchasing it for reef aquariums. As a result, look for the unwelcome algae that is just beginning to bloom. When you have a problem with your phosphates, they will let you know. The best thing you can do for your fish is to change the water and reduce the amount of food they ingest.

Checking phosphate is easy with the best method! As the sole owner of a reef dominated by sps corals, I must know what the phosphate levels are to keep my corals' coloration at its best
4/5

It's a good idea not to raise the corals too high, because they'll The corals need a range of temperatures to grow, so lowering the humidity will make growth very slow, so keep corals in this range. The target I shoot for is Date 02-02 A normal test score is 03 or higher. I have used many different test kits in the past. There are a lot of steps involved in using manual test kits, and it is a laborious process. The tests must be timed, measured and counted as well as a calculator etc. Those test kits are also very expensive. In the event that you purchased and used two or three test kits, this would have cost you more. In addition to those meters, there are many others. This kind of measuring device is known as a photometer. The majority are lab tools that are more than $200 each. As I have used them before, they work well, but I don't think the price difference between one of these and a unit made for labs is worth it. I appreciate the consistency and ease of use this unit offers. My only reason for not rating it 5 stars is because when I tried to open the unit to put in a battery, the tab broke off! Then I didn't get the chance to use it at all. It was so disappointing to be so unhappy with My arms were not pulled hard, but it still However, the unit is still usable. It is just a bit more of a hassle and not on the same level as it would have been had I not broken The flap may have had a crack before it left the factory because I feel this flimsy flap would be dangerous (so rated four stars instead of five). Since I think I actually broke it, there is no way I can request an exchange, but maybe it was already cracked or something, as I mentioned. As easy as it would be to snap the unit, I just don't see that happening. It is a good idea to get this or any of the Hanna meters if you own a reef tank. When putting the battery in, be careful not to damage it when opening it!.
