The weight of this 100g calibration weight is 100g (3 oz). It weighs 52 ounces.
An exact gram weight. In this case, the exact weight is 100 grams.
It does.
This is not the case. I almost threw it away because I had already bought something else. I had completely forgotten that I had placed an order for this. You must exercise caution.

I purchased three of these and used an AWS electronic scale to compare them. Resolution of 01g. On my scale, all three of these weighed the same, indicating that they are made consistently. I can't say much more than that because I don't have a scale with a NIST certificate. As far as I can tell, they're accurate, and my Ohaus triple beam agrees with the electronic scale (though the Ohaus' resolution is only 0. 01). 1 gram, so it's not the most accurate comparison). A certificate, on the other hand, would have been a nice addition.
It weighs exactly 100 grams when I put it on the scale.
A well-made calibration weight that weighs what it claims to weigh- This is how it works: Actually, it was a huge success- Until it was misplaced by my other half. So, until we find it again, we're relying on a small rock that we already know weighs 100 grams (at least until we lose the rock, LOL). br>br>If you use calibration weights, I recommend that you devise a method for storing them permanently. If I had a dollar for each pound we've lost over the years, I'd be a millionaire. And if you really need a calibration weight of this size, this one (at least the one I got) was extremely accurate, a good standard size and shape, and looked a lot nicer than the rock we've been using:.
It does exactly what it says it will. I tested it on two different milligram scales, and the results were identical on both of them. I'm measuring supplement powders, not fissionable materials, so it's all good. About 3/10,000 of a gram over, but seriously, I think the weight of a fingerprint could account for that, or the scales could be miscalibrated on a slightly imperfect standard.
There's not much to say about something that simply must exist in order to function. I weighed them on two different scales and got the same result, so they're the right weight (or at least the same weight) as far as I can tell. If you're worried about them being exposed to the elements, they come in small ziploc bags. I'm not sure whether it matters. They help me calibrate my jeweler's scale. br>br> A word of warning, though: To begin, purchase the scale and determine what weights it requires for calibration. I thought I only needed a 100g weight, but when you run the test, it asks for both 100g and 200g, so I bought two of these. Advantages: br>br>
- As advertised, it appears to weigh 100g. br>- br>br>Cons: br>br>Cheapbr>br>
- It's not in the shape of a funny animal.
I have a cheap scale that I'm not sure is accurate, but this weight was right on the money for grams on my scale. Some reviewers complained that the weight was off by a few hundredths of a gram, but I don't have a way to measure and don't need that level of precision, so I can't comment on the weight's use in ultra-lightweight applications. A high level of accuracy is required.
To calibrate the scale, this is what you'll need. Using a class A borosilicate graduated cylinder and a class B PP graduated cylinder, the density of 20C distilled water was measured. Both arrive at the same result of 2. 5% below acceptable value M2 indicates - For every 100 grams, there is a 16 mg tolerance. This isn't even close to what I'm talking about. I got better results when I used 20 US nickels to calibrate the scale.
It appears that this is correct. It would have been nice if it came in a sturdy plastic container to protect it and keep the measurements accurate. I can't complain, though, because it's less than $10.
