Questions & Answers
When using a 0 as the reference voltage, the Fluke 365 can measure up to 200 Amps DC. On the display, there is a resolution of 1 Amp. If the current is very low, less than a few amps, I would not use it.
There is no hard protective case included with it, only a heavy fabric carrier. Furthermore, it includes electronic probes for use as a digital meter as well as a magnetic strap so that it can be hung where it can be seen so that you will not need to look around corners or around the edges of objects to read the results.
My thanks to you for your question. By draws, I assume that you're referring to current measurements, which is what a clamp-on is supposed to do It is displayed on the The kit lets you set the amplifier from two tenths of an amp all the way up to about 200 amps if I remember correctly. Furthermore, it has the advantage of working on DC, making it a powerful tool for troubleshooting for those who have sufficient experience to use Despite its name, this does not mean that it measures all the way down to zero Feel free to contact me at Robert. applegate@comcast. net if you have any further In addition, if you want to do 4-WEEKS it may be of interest to you A search of "Fluke 771 Case Study" will locate 20mA measurements on analog instruments. Transcat now has it on its site, I believe. . There is a write-up that I wrote based on my field testing of that device. *Bob
Selected User Reviews For Fluke 365 Detachable Jaw True-RMS AC/DC Clamp Meter
There are two of these in my collection. The one I have been using for years is still serving me well. A year after purchasing a second meter to keep in a second tool bag, the clamp hinge breaks. This meter was practically brand-new, lived its entire life in a case, was never dropped, was barely used, and the factory protector was still on In any event, Fluke does not sell this clamp because it is not a "user replaceable part". Technically, there is no reason to do so You don't even have to use a tool to remove the clamp and cable! There is even a reference to the clamp "cable" as a wear-resistant cable in the manual This multimeter is a replaceable part, but neither the cable nor the clamp assembly is listed. You might be able to send it in for repair, but contacting Fluke's repair center is a painful experience, especially given the number of broken meters for sale on ebay.
My last one broke, and this was a replacement. I would still give it a five star review if it weren't for the fact it was a replacement. I would not buy a jaw from Fluke and he wouldn't give me more than $10 for it. We will trade you in for $800. Considering the jaw connects via a simple connector and there is nothing wrong with the rest of it, I decided to keep the old one for the basic functions and purchase a new one to amp things up. Until now, this has been the only Fluke I have ever replaced.
Investments like these are always a good idea. This is one I should have bought a long time It is a purchase I have put off for quite some time, waiting for a price reduction. Despite the modest price and the long wait, it was worth it. Fluke was one of the most innovative products of its kind, perhaps the best in its category. However, I must boast that this machine is head and shoulders above all the other brands, including my oldie The problem is I have one of those Radio Shack meters I trust. It is a very high quality rotary switch as well. A simple twist of the knob will tell you how it works. Even so, the large screen is great for older eyes, and the accuracy is quite apparent. They are excellent in terms of leads, tips, and handles as well. In spite of my long search for a unique price, I could not stop using my older equipment as long as I remained stubbornly committed to it, which made it cumbersome and difficult to use In many cases, the equipment fails. The only way to be sure about absolute reliability is to bite the bullet and put the work.
Checking current status of projects I am working on and outdoor lighting is one of the ways I use this. The clamp does not stay locked to the body of the tester, and I find this to be my only complaint. It just seems like they should have given that snap a little more tension. However, this is not a big deal for most users and does not affect the tester in any way. Using the tester, I have not encountered any issues, and it seems to be There is a significant difference between the readings on my multimeter and those obtained from this. The purchase was a good one for me. I find this tester a lot easier to use for taking current readings.
Its brilliant design allows you to insert this clamp easily into tight areas and still be able to view the reading from the clamp. In addition to the backlit screen, it also has a handy little light. This clamp lets you do all the tasks you could do with a remote clamp, but at a lower cost.
I got it to check an old vehicle with frequency of battery failures, since my 25-year-old car has multiple batteries. The year is An old Fluke 77 and an old Fluke 77A DC amp clamps by Milwaukee cannot read newer amp clamps with D/C inputs. The sample I received was less than satisfactory (see the Amazon review for more details) so I decided to return it & replace with another sample. This one has been ordered. With the Fluke, all features work well and the detachable jaw gives it a huge advantage when you're under the hood If your service entry box is not available, please call the service entry hotline There are also many other locations in the world. I've had no complaints so far, but it's too early to gauge the success of the program for the long term The ability to stand the test of time. In my experience, the "made in China" factor means that quality control is essentially not there, rendering 1 star off the rating. I believe the star should have been removed, but feel free to add it back in.
have been working as an automotive technician for over 15 years. The frequency of tests for quiescent draws needs to be increased. Rock solid is the word to describe this meter. Readings from DC amp clamp meters will often fluctuate continuously and will cause you to wonder what the problem is. I only gave it 4 stars because of the range, and not because it was a great experience. A reading of is the lowest. A 100 milliampere is the same as 1 amp. If the sum is less than or equal to , round up to that amount. Initially, I would like to have 1 amp at 50 milliamps to operate with.
As part of my job in the solar industry, I see a lot of #10 AWG wire looped on combiner boxes An application like this calls for this meter. As the jaw of the detachable unit is small, slightly pointed, and thus very easy to maneuver, you can still read the main unit at the same time. I'm all for it! The AC/DC Fluke I have is around the same price as the one I had In exchange for this model, I would be happy to trade my old one in. As the 365 has a smaller jaw, I suspect that it may be more accurate in my particular application than the larger jaw models, and it can easily fit around all but the largest.
