What is the need for a 14 inch long belt for a porter cable planer?

A very close fit for the Cable Model 362 Type 7 belt sander was found here. The installation of this software is very difficult. To hook the belt on the small pulley first, and then gradually rotate the belt onto the large pulley, begin with the small pulley.

Initially, the belt appears to be even better than the OEM part. Only time will tell how the belt will perform over time. Installing this belt is a bit of a challenge, as with most small format belts. I found this to be helpful. Eventually, you will be able to get the large pulley side in place as you exert downward pressure in conjunction with rotating the belt. You can start by mounting the small pulley about 80% on, then you can move onto the larger pulley side as you rotate the belt.
