To locate a sprinkler system valve underground, I plan to use this instrument Will this valve find water at a depth of up to how deep below the surface?

The distance is not very great. It is only possible to locate a valve with this device when the solenoid is in chatter mode, causing the valve solenoid to repeatedly click. Depending on the location of the valve or the amount of ambient noise (traffic, wind, etc.), the clicking of the valve can often be hard to hear. You might want to call a professional if you want to locate the valve or use an actual valve locator.

Finding a wire break in irrigation works well, but how well does it work?

There is no way to find broken wires with it. What a wire tracer does is find out what wire is connected to what wire. This is just to let you know whether a wire path or solenoid is in good working order.

Could this tool be used to trace out wires buried in concrete to find a valve that I cannot locate?

This is an excellent tool for finding lost valve boxes

Among the sprinkler valve boxes I found, I found three that had the solenoids chattering. Using this product saved me hours of time that would have been wasted using other less-efficient products A method that is effective. I understand that the volume of the sound coming from a solenoid depends solely on that solenoid however, this is not the case with the sound itself. If the valve boxes are dirty, or if there is grass on top, denote this by an exclamation mark Despite the clicking, there is a valve to be found in a quiet environment if you will listen once in a while. Like a heartbeat, the sound is quite pleasing to the ear.

It is an excellent tool for tracing wires, finding irrigation valves that have failed, and verifying that solenoid valves work right. The technology can also be used to trace small cables that are not buried too deeply, e. g. The greater of two and less than two The metal portion of the valve should be 4" deep so the wires connecting it to the controller can be distinguished. Worked on tracing electrical and network wiring as well.

My sprinklers are working now! I found the problem with my Armada Pro48K! It was essential for me to figure out why my lawn sprinklers had stopped It doesn't work in any of the 3 zones in the backyard area

The Pro48K assisted me in determining that the sprinkler valves were operational, that the solenoids were operating, then once I determined the valve diaphragms were not torn or worn, there was only left the wiring. All the components of the wiring worked once I replaced them.

The product does not come with any user guides or warranty information

Since I haven't downloaded or used the tester yet, I cannot comment on its functionality. I feel that it is irritating to have neither a user manual nor a warranty The paperwork that should have been included in the package was not included after I spoke with Armada tech.

I was unable to get this to work

Despite its poor design, the product is of high quality. Despite my excellent hearing, I went all over my yard and was not able to hear the clicking even after setting the unit to chatter. The two other friends I brought along were unable to hear any clicks from the valves either. As the probe was moved a few inches away from the wires coming down the wall, the wand picked up the tone, but as the wires went into the ground, the signal disappeared, so I was unable to trace the wires and find Sorry to hear that.
