Micrometer seems like a nice piece, especially for the price, but I have very high expectations for Mitutoyo based on the past, and minor finish issues with the one I received make me wonder if the instrument is legitimate Mitutoyo or have their quality standards declined.

I really like this General Tools made one about 20 years ago and I bought it about 15 years ago. It is in inches, but it is not as durable and accurate Micrometers from Mitutoyo are used in factories and by professionals alike. Neither of them are prone to wear out and are long lasting.
