Product Description

This set of micrometers contains a flat anvil and a spindle for general-purpose measuring it also has microfine graduations and carbide-tipped measuring faces both are The graduation rate is "0001"

On the carbide tips of the anvil and spindle, hand-ground with a microlap finish, hardened and precision ground. The diameter of the measuring faces is 256" and the scale is It has a flatness of 0.0003" and a slope of 0.001. A micrometer with 00005" parallelism for accurate measurements will measure 0 to 1"

Quick and easy zero adjustment on the sleeve and positive lock on the clamp friction thimble on 1" and 2" mics and ratchet thimble on 3" to 6" mics apply constant force to the mic for repeatability throughout the length.

A satin chrome finish is used on the thimble and the sleeve, to reduce rust and glare and to lengthen the life of the product. A hammertone blue baked enamel finish is used on the vernier scale.

Included in this set are setting standards for sizes above 1", adjustment wrenches, and a case to fit the set

In which country does manufacturing take place?

The labels do not clearly indicate that they are made in the United States, while Taiwan or China are not marked either. They appear to be made in China (as the box clearly states). My other Fowler tools are stamped USA and so are stamped with that country's name. However, I am disappointed that there are no markings on these, but the action and accuracy are so far As far as I can tell from the packaging and plastic the tools were packed in when they arrived, they are foreign made, but I am not sure.

Can you tell me where they are ?

There is no doubt about China. They work! All of the Fowler parts they made there! A lot of locks don't work very well. The mic is hard to read, as is the case with all newer models, but it's worth the price if you're willing to spend a little more. This is a good number - 0005

Does the standard include a cover to protect it?

There is no cover to protect them from the elements.

My classmates and I used to use them a lot at school. In most Tech Workshops, the Techs no longer know how to measure, so I thought it would be a good start to have them disassemble a production engine, measure it, and place it back together with all the It is still working after two years after I purchased it. We are a school so we can get away with a decent brand

We will probably spend the money and buy a better brand. Although some of the pieces fell off the ratchet end knobs, I was able to reassemble them without too much difficulty. In the business world, I probably would spend more money to buy a better brand than that.
