There is no vernier, yes. Quantumike is equipped with a faster screw than most other mikes, so it is able to measure objects more quickly. Many thousands of times have I used this product. They are always right on the money. This ratchet is easy to work with two hands, the best part is the gearing When taking multiple measurements, it is four times faster. It's also nice to have a ratchet that goes all the way to the main part of the thimble/barrel, something not found in all The closest example I can think of to a perfect tool is this, although I am not sure there are any.

This is a fast, repeatable, accurate, and coolant-proof method! There is no comparison at all between this and the original Digimike. It is so much better and that mic was great. There is less effort involved in using these, and they can be repeated faster.
