I have a model that has a base that is magnetic and locks onto ferrous metals for secure storage. This cabinet did not come with a flat backplate. It would be wise if you looked up that item separately rather than purchasing it together.
You can use a magnet on a cast iron or steel top if it is strong enough.

It feels nice, and you can get it for a very low price, as all 1" digital indicators at Amazon. I do not like the fact that it does not display decimal and fractional values at the same time which may appeal to some, but it is not for me. I would appreciate it if you could tell me what the only other complaint I have about this indicator is that the overall stem length is slightly shorter than As a result, if you wish to use this in a jig you have built for the PhaseII, you may need to use a longer tip that is available
In addition to that, my digital indicator even has a USB-like port that I use to output SPC data. Since it's not a USB port, you can't just plug it straight into a PC to capture data with a USB cable. I give the tool four stars because it offers great value for money and is ideal for woodworkers who enjoy using hand tools. I am not saying the tool is good enough for a machinist, but I do not believe that is its intent. When I use it with Betterly UNA- I get better results The gauge (universal alignment gauge) has been a great success in measuring depth, height, etc.
The item was purchased to test runout on a table saw and set up jointer knives. Those purposes are well served by it. Having said that, I've not used it for anything else. There are many easy and cheap ways of installing a jointer, TS, etc. , but I have a quick, easy and cheap method for you.
I wasn't entirely happy with how the shaft joined the base, but was able to use the indicator for the particular job I was doing. Locktite is being considered when it comes to.
A dial indicator that I found to be very useful while working on my lathe.
The tool is worth every penny when you need it for setting up gears, checking transmission shaft end play, and checking wheel runout.
purchased it so that I could use its maximum precision in mechanical lathe work.
I have never used this kind before so I was unsure how to use it. The product contains no documentation on how to install it or use it.
I had no difficulty setting up the system.
