I am just beginning my woodworking journey, and these tools are very useful to me. With these, mortises can be laid out in a snap. So I don't have to worry about lines being wonky since they are nice and straight. By simply placing them on one side of a board or the other, and using an offset board to keep them in place, I can simply zip a line across their entire length. Although I am sure there are other tricks and such I can use, I find these to be rather helpful. Plus, it comes in handy for setting up the height of the table saw blade. Using my digital caliper, I checked the measurement on each of these and found the largest was 1/100th of an inch off, the rest were perfectly accurate.
It is a few thousandths off for the 1/2, 3/8, and 1/4”, but should not be a problem for any woodworking project. I am happy with mine! I'm not happy with the way the case/packaging is constructed. There are areas that can be improved Observations 1. 1) Make a case that allows you to open one file at a time. 2) I wish the sections were longer than two minute. The 5"*3 rule. 1) I'm still not sure why they added 3/16’s", as I'd rather have 1/16", 3/4" or even 1 cm.
There are some pretty nice things about these. They're easy to use, decently made, and accurate enough to handle the tasks you're going to use them for (or at least the tasks That is not a big deal. Could be easier to read, but thats not a big deal too. They could have come in a little nicer package, if they were available. There is no point in keeping it, as the container it comes in is trash. It would have been nice if the documents had been provided in a little box. Even so, this is still pretty good and useful, so I recommend it for anybody doing projects that require.
I use them frequently. The best way to setup bars is to use them. This simplifies a great deal of the setup and measuring procedures. These were so easy to get that I can't believe I didn't have them Upon receipt, I found a clear plastic box that was usable, and the size markings on the bars could be clearly read.
This was not accurate and the fact they were not size marked did not help. The bottom line is that this is.
I received five gauge blocks in a row that were all I can use both directions of their target size in my wood shop, so this is fine. The polish is also very nice. Even though it is fairly flimsy, it has been found to be more than sufficient to protect them. The purchase was good, and the price was reasonable.
As others have mentioned, your results are not very precise, which is unfortunate because that is their intended They're good enough for woodworking projects or projects that don't require a very high degree of accuracy. Get something else if you don't like this.
Good quality product for a great price. When I want to set the height I just feel the edge of the blade or router bit. It's really simple and easy to do. To make the dado setup as simple as possible, I will likely order another set.
