Questions & Answers
If you want to measure something, you shouldn't pull the outer jaw all the way out but just enough to fit it. It should be possible to push the button on the slide and that should move the slide. If it does not move with a bit of resistance, something is damaged and preventing the slide from moving properly.
The item measures about 10 cm in height.
Taking the "sliding" member out of the "fixed" member is as easy as pulling it in all the way. A friction fit is all that's needed. There is a movable jaw contained within the sliding member. The stationery jaw is located on the fixed member.

The caliper that you see here is a nice little thing. On the 17th, I expected to receive three of the items I ordered. Having them arrive on the 11th was great. Each one came in its own sealed plastic package. On the top edge, you will find a measurement that is 4 inches to a 16th of an inch, and on the bottom edge, 100 millimeters to a A small amount of stiffness is noticeable out of the wrapper, and in one case, the thumb post caught when extended past the jaws' measuring faces. I found the edges were very sharp and irritated my hand after using it for a while. So far, this caliper is very similar to those you can find in a home center for the same price. There are two differences, one, the scale is not a tape attached to the metal, rather it is engraved into There is also a vernier scale on the millimeter scale that can be used to determine precise measurements to the nearest tenth of a millimeter. The distance between two points is 1 millimeter. There is no other small brass caliper that has this feature. With the aid of a fine honing stone, I flattened the back of the slide to reduce the difficulty of handling the instrument and rounded the edges that come in contact with my hand. The measuring surfaces remained unchanged though. Once the whole thing was polished, I cleaned it twice with toothpaste and a It was then time to work on the slide so A final polish with brass polish was then applied.
I like the step you took. Tools that help you save money. Vernier scales are nice for a little more precision on the millimeter side. It would have been nice if they were pre-drilled just like the other scales. A mark is placed on the inside of the measurement. This issue was resolved with the help of a scale and scribe. In the end, I needed to disassemble the caliper and polish the metal with fine metal polish in order to get it to slide. All the sharp edges of the caliper needed to be filed down a little. This is all- There were a lot more improvements over the previous model it replaced, which had a stick trigger This scale was once attached to its strap, but it lost its function after a few years of pocket carry.
Wobbling and inaccurate, it cannot be relied upon. This is not a machined part. When you first see it you might find that it isn't as good as it looks. I must say, however, that it looks great!
A plastic caliper at home is one of the tools I make use of every day My digital caliper is good, as well as the day caliper. A plastic one was getting worn, so this one was meant to replace it, but the plastic one is more accurate even worn than this one is the same It is not the caliper you need if you are looking for a product of high quality. I use mine for basic stuff that does not require precision and I have clients who comment on how nice it is. It is now in my office, and I use for basic stuff that does not need accuracy. Considering that it gets complimented and used, there is a merit to it. However, it is not the right tool for modeling or anything that requires accuracy.
It has not been possible to identify any mark, if any, that enables inside measures to be read. There are ten tick marks ranging from 0-100 on the bottom of the image that are totally unexplained It measures about 9 millimeters. I've got several dial calipers, but I wanted something smaller that would fit in the pocket of my shirt. With my dial calipers, I could measure across the tip outside and use a scribe to write a mark that should be fairly close to the measurement. Please don't buy them if anyone can provide a comprehensive explanation of how to interpret the readings inside.
Using it to quickly read before heading to the hardware store is handy, I carry it on my pouch along with a pocket tape I am always working on a project in the house or on the boat, so it comes in handy while doing that. In terms of precision, it isn't its strongest point. It may keep you on the readings to an eighth, but anything closer won't be trustworthy.
Pocket calipers like this are handy to have. and does what it is supposed to do. As well as being small, it fits in my pocket easily. In its original state, it was very difficult to slide. However, a little sanding on the sides of the slide and boom solved the problem. This is great.
I brought it because I have already used a similar product. The product is made improperly and falls apart when used. If cutting the sliding piece inside at an angle, it should be angled There was nothing wrong with what I received, because it is straight.
I did not receive the "tray" on the bottom of the caliper as depicted in the picture, but it wasn't a deal-breaker to It's not worth the trouble to return it to the retailer for a refund.
