My expectations for this caliper were high since it is exactly like the one I used for many years - an imported caliper. There is no issue with an entire production run, so I hope mine was just a defective item. In the case of closed calipers, the needle sometimes sways beyond zero when closed, but returning to zero after opening and closing again causes it to swing back. In addition to dial needles migrating very slowly counterclockwise when closed at 0, dial needle migration at It is 815. However, the fact remains that the needle is creeping CCW which renders this tool of no use to me. This can be easily solved by adjusting the dial face for zero alignment, but it is not reversible, so it is of no use to me. To keep the calipers at zero, I have to reset them every time I open them and close them. Due to this issue, I have already ruined one of the parts I was making. While I'd be happy to return this item, I'd prefer to try another one instead.
In addition to receiving inconsistent zeros, I can't seem to get a positive review. I seem to be able to get about an inch out of it when opening it. It is just impossible to zero. After setting the zero, open and close the zero and then hit a second I would recommend at least five.
The dial caliper works as another dial caliper would, and seems to be quite accurate when compared to the other model I own. Well worth the price!.
There is a claim on the box that this stainless steel caliper will deliver unfailing performance. This accuracy varies from 001 to 1. 000. Obviously, this is the Chinese manufacturer having a laugh at their expense. Whenever I open and close this caliber, the dial seems to read a different value every time. There is no point to it.
The expected outcome was reached. There is no doubt that the numbers on the dial and on the steel are readily visible. As of now, its sliding motion is a little stiff, but I hope it will get smoother as more time passes. Having said that, as long as you store it in the case when not using it, it should work.
The caliper has been used regularly around the house to reload ammunition and practice various tasks. The construction is good and the materials are With the arrival of this caliper, I got rid of the digital caliper I had previously used. The mechanical device where I have the ability to adjust the zero point and view the dial's tracking as I make the measurement is much more reliable to me. The accuracy of the data has been verified and I feel confident that it fulfills my requirements. In my opinion, this is one of the best devices on the market.
This is a great product, but do not waste your money on Amazon.
It is not as smooth as a higher end caliper but is an acceptable tool for the price. It has been found that when measuring depth, it is sometimes off by a few pixels. A dial with a zeroed reading of 011 will not work.
