I have a problem with my new case, since it creaked when I opened it. Last time I used a plastic case, it cracked It's a warning sign if you hear the hinges creaking in a new plastic case that it won't last long. The stress points become unduely stressed because a slight misalignment at the hinges or an overtensioning of the strap. This item was returned to the company. If the case you receive is also fatefully flawed, you should definitely do the free shipping option. If I could exchange it for another one, I would have been glad to do so, but there seemed to be no option to do so. I will be with you soon, Starrett.
In this case, you will find that the 8 inch Mitutoyo calipers fit Although the latches hold tight, it is easy to open them. While there is no padding, the calipers don't squeak much when shaken, which should mean that it's okay if it falls. It is possible that the hinges might eventually fail because they are made of flexing plastic. In general, this case has been helpful to me.
It seems to be quite good quality and very protective. The photos, I hope, will be of assistance. A set of Mitutoyo 8" calipers is shown. In this case, there are two holds On the inside of the case lid, you'll find downs that keep the caliper from rattling. I hold these in my hand- For the sake of not marring the calipers, the downs have small pads on them. There is nothing flimsy or thin about these latches. They will not break easily or wear out for a long time. Here are some photos that may prove useful. As soon as the case arrived, the outside of it was scuffed up, otherwise I would have given 5 stars instead of 4 stars.
It has a higher level of stability than other economically priced cases.
Earlier on, I had a 6" digital caliper whose case had been damaged. There is a significant difference in quality between this case and the case that came with my brand-name.
It would be nice if it had a soft padding.
My wife made a bag for my caliper to take up some space in the bag because there was a lot of room inside. She made a flannel bag from her scraps to give the box a little cushion, but it does not have any insulation.
I purchased it for a specific reason, so it suits my needs well.
