I have spent over 40 years as a machinist and now my name brand 12 inch digital calipers have stopped working for no apparent In the end I gave up on digital calipers as well as dial calipers due to failure. Unless you are unable to read a vernier scale, it would seem that vernier is the right way to go, as it does not need The caliper was checked against standards ranging from 1 inch to 12 inches and was perfectly accurate. There is no gap between the jaws either inside or outside. It's great that the fine adjustment thumb wheel can be used I would definitely buy from them.
