There are two calipers, one on the inside and one on the outside, as well as one set of dividers, for a total of three pieces. The tools are appealing to me, especially given their low cost.

Very accurate and enjoyable to hold in your hand; unfortunately, tool quality like this appears to be dwindling. My only criticism is that the orange vinyl set case is a little flimsy; I'd prefer something more durable, like a zip-up courdura bag or an ABS plastic case with foam inside - A waxed cotton roll-up or wallet, for example, would be far more durable and reflect Eastern European craftsmanship. Even so, some may consider these to be pricey - However, these are excellent tools at an excellent price!.
This caliper set was promptly delivered the next day after I placed my order. When I opened the package, I discovered that the outside caliper had been poorly assembled/manufactured. To function correctly, the caliper's tips must meet precisely and accurately. br>The quality of the outside caliper in my set is poor; The tips are not aligned properly and precisely. One side of the caliper appears to be longer (or shorter) than the other, which could be due to how the caliper legs are made or machined. The final fitting, on the other hand, should ensure that the tips are properly ground so that they meet precisely and precisely. NOT IN MY CASE. Groz bent the very end of the tip outward to match the other leg, which allowed the tips to align halfway. Rather than replacing (or grinding) the tips, you should grind them properly. They simply bent the tip outward in an attempt to correct the defect. br>I could regrind the tips to get them to align/match correctly, but that would result in a reworked tool. In addition, in the rework area, the black finish would be ground away. br>I was looking for calipers that were of much higher quality; especially after reading all of the positive feedback. We'll have to wait and see if Groz responds to my complaint and replaces the faulty outside caliper. These tools are brand new and have never been used before. They were not harmed during shipping or handling. Simply put, the product was made badly. br>br>Updated on November 14, 2019. As a follow-up on this caliper, I'd like to express my gratitude to Amazon for stepping in and replacing the outside caliper out of the goodness of their hearts. Groz has never responded to my message about the quality problem, let alone offered any help. Without the assistance of the manufacturer, Amazon accomplished this on their own. Groz, by the way, is a company based in India. So their lack of cooperation and communication comes as no surprise to me.
However, the barrel through which the screw travels is rubbing. Overkill for a casual woodworker, but they have a very solid feel to them when you pick them up. There is a lot of spring tension. The moving leg gets stuck on the threaded screw when all three pieces are opened to a larger diameter (see photo). I manually moved each to its largest opening several times, and the barrel rubbing against the screw can be felt. After a few opening and closing actions, it started to improve. I'm hoping the thread isn't damaged by the screw becoming burnished over time.
The tools themselves are well-built, durable, and functional. The carrying case, on the other hand, is made of thin, flimsy plastic that will not last (it is for this reason that I did not give "Sturdiness" a five-star rating). One of the tool pockets on mine had a large tear in it, rendering it useless. If you're only interested in the tools, you won't be disappointed. Plan to spend more money on a better carrying case if it is important to you.
They're what I use for my spare time. Even though it didn't require rocket precision, I despise having something that crumbles when you look at it. These are adequate.
The tools were kept in a ripped plastic package. It can't be used to hold the tools because it's too small.
It's not bad value for money.
I just received them. The big calipers get stuck when you back off the screw, and they won't open all the way to the thumb screw. This is inconvenient and should not be the case with a $40 tool. I gave them back to you.
