Questions & Answers
Since it takes up less space in the utility box, I keep mine closed. With that said, however, fully opening the spring allows the spring to unload the tension, which might result in a longer spring life. The final decision is up to you.
The answer is not clear
On Sept 9, 2020, I was able to purchase this product. In India, it reads "Made in India" on the back of the package.

I'd say they're 12" tall. The 12" option is nice. Especially if you want something large. Their soft steel would be more appealing if it weren't so noticeable and incredibly If you view the tips in the wrong way, the tips will deform. I mean it. I pray you don't actually touch the inside of the object Retaking the measurement will result in a shorter distance since the tips deformed during the last measuring. The tool should have been a little more expensive if I had spent a little more on a better known brand. I would not recommend this to anyone who intends to keep this tool and use it repeatedly. Since I'm being generous with 2 stars, I'll give it 2.
There is an internet video that demonstrates how to lay out dovetails using dividers that I won't describe here, but I bought a pair because I have several drawers to make for a chest of drawers and I want to use dovetails for assembly. The dividers have two compass points, which make it easy to make precise measurements. In humid climates, the dividers are shipped sealed in plastic and protected with oil to prevent rust. Mineral spirits worked great to remove this (I just used a soft cloth and used a soft cloth to remove it) before using. The adjusting screws on some of the others I looked at were made of plastic and did not look Metal screws adjust the legs against an adjustable nut, and a powerful spring is attached to the top of the legs to allow them to collapse. As a result, it is easy to adjust the dividers to any dimension within their adjustment range. A number of boards have been laid out for dovetails, and they do exactly what I needed. I am very pleased with this purchase. If you plan to lay out dovetails with the method that I do, these work best for you. The dovetails come out evenly spaced and the same size, if that is what you want. For the dovetails to function properly, you must make the precision cuts with a saw. I hope you have a great time working on wood!.
There is a lot of weight or bulk here, 6 inches refers to the length of the legs It measures 8 inches in length and the adjustment screw extends across a threaded hole. A three and one eighth inch measurement. These instruments are of a high quality, are well made, and tight, and you will probably be able to hand them down There is a problem. It doesn't work on mine! While the tips of the legs do not end at a point, they do come to a point. Rather than a rectangular flat, it is a circular flat a little over 1/32" in diameter The following values are given in ”035". 038 cm It doesn't work that way. Don't let go. The blades of these machines skip and slide a lot on all but the softest of wood, and they are too blunt to leave a clear scribe mark on the surface. It is impossible to use them as map dividers if they don't even hold on glossy paper (unless you bear down hard)? There is some play here, but I don't know if this is intentional or a defective sharpening (grinding)
In my case, however, they have already been There is no way to use them! Thank you Amazon for your excellent Customer Service Satisfaction Policy. It has been refunded to me in full!.
Although the cost was low, I was pleasantly surprised by what I found. Their build quality is excellent, and their accuracy is excellent as well. Regardless of how good I used to be, these days I'm a hobbyist woodworker, so cheap tools are my preference if I can get them. If you're a pro, you might want to consider the Starrett's as they would last for a long time. You will be able to use these if you are a hobbyist and they should last a lifetime if looked after.
In agreement with other negative reviews here, mine arrived with rusted and uneven tips that had clearly been poorly machined. All of it was coated in grease EXCEPT the tips where it was needed. According to the date on the box, the package was shipped in 2005, so I'm guessing it has been on a warehouse shelf for a long.
However, the screw mechanism is stiff because In its current state, I believe it will wear out very soon as it is rubbing against itself.
The legs of the machine are rigid enough to withstand the pressure I apply to them while doing leather work.
In its packaging, the product appeared to be in good condition. When I first opened it, I was met with an unpleasant metallic smell and the whole thing was slathered in grease (my hands had to be washed for ten minutes). As well as the tips, they were rusted. In 2011, according to the box, the box was made. For the past nine years, it has probably been rotting in a warehouse. A rating of one star is warranted. I don't think this is really the norm for the product, but if you really want to be safe, buy something more expensive.
