Questions & Answers

Is this compatible with Apple's Homekit and can it be used in conjunction with the Home app?

Currently, Apple Homekit is not supported by us. We have Google Assistant, Amazon Alexa, and IFTTT integrations available right now. Users can use the API as well.

If I want to keep my data on my own computer (rather than on someone else's computer in the cloud! ), I must do so locally. Will this hub be able to handle it?

This feature will not be supported by the Airthings Hub. The data collected by your Wave devices (Wave Plus, Wave Radon, Wave Mini) will be sent to the AIrthings cloud servers and stored there. However, if you want to store your data locally with one of your monitors, we have an example on how to use a Raspberry Pi and the explanations are available on GitHub: br>br>

Selected User Reviews For Airthings 2810 Hub, 24/7 Access to Your Airthings Monitor Data

Useful for multiple airthings sensors; dimmable led status lights are an option
5/5

There seems to be a lot of confusion about why the airthings sensors don't have wifi. My options are limited, but having wifi, while easier, would result in battery drain or more frequent charging/battery replacement, as well as users complaining about connectivity loss (similar to web/security cameras). br>br>The Hub has easy-to-see lights (though I wish the leds could be dimmed or turned off). The thickness of the hub is fine, and the unit does not get too hot. br>br>I was originally looking for a smart radon tester before installing a radon mitigation system and found the airthings wave systembr>br>I was originally looking for a smart radon tester before installing a radon mitigation system and found the airthings wave systembr>br>Below is a similar review I posted for the wave plus sensorbr>br>I was originally looking for a smart radon tester before installing a br>br>At first, I bought the home kit from Amazon warehouse (openbox), which included an older wave 2nd gen, the hub, and the mini wave. I had some issues with the hub because it had already been registered, and I didn't want to bother with support because they weren't available 24/7, so I returned everything. br>br>During the initial setup, I also assumed (incorrectly) that the units would be WiFi/IP based, but the stand-alone sensors can only communicate with the hub via bluetooth or radio. Furthermore, without the hub, data is not continuously recorded. br>br>I then placed an order for this new sensor wave plus, two mini waves, and the hub (all of which were quite expensive). Unbox the sensors, download the app, create an account, connect the sensor to your phone via bluetooth, update firmware, and it's ready to use. Then you plug in your hub and connect the sensors to the hub via your phone. br>br>With the wave2, the radon level was high (as suspected by ally neighbors who paid $150 to have their radon level professionally tested. What I didn't expect was for the house's CO2 and VOC levels to be high, as well as the basement's high humidity levels. We were able to reduce CO2 levels by opening windows and airing out the house, and we were able to control humidity levels in the basement with a dehumidifier. In terms of VOC, I began looking into UV lights in the HVAC system and eventually had an Airscrubber by Aerus installed by my HVAC guy. The airthings wave sensor picked up the improvements after the airscrubber and hvac fans were turned on. The web dashboard also has a lot more data and is easier to track historical data than the app, as the app will show you real-time stats as well as historical data, but you won't be able to zoom in on the data or set a custom time frame (zoom in). br>br>I'd also like the option of hardwiring the sensor similar to a smoke detector and alert/push notifications for user or preset thresholds so I don't have to constantly monitor. br>br>I'd also like the option of hardwiring the sensor similar to a smoke detector and alert/push notifications for user or preset thresholds so I don't have to constantly monitor. br>br>Overall, a fantastic product, but the data will prompt you to consider ways to improve air quality:.

Finally, a user-friendly API for home users
5/5

Due to the lack of an API for home users, I previously gave this item a one-star rating. The consumer API is now available, as far as I can tell. Despite the fact that I haven't tried it yet, I believe it will meet my requirements. It would have been great if I had been notified about the consumer API (I don't recall if there was a waiting list, but if there was, I would have signed up). Thank you so much, Airthings!.

This hub must be within bluetooth range of every device connected to it, in case that wasn't clear
3/5

It also lacks wifi and only has an ethernet connection. In 2021. Furthermore, the company offers poor customer service.

This is a fantastic addition to any Airthings setup
5/5

The Airthings hub is fantastic because it uses SmartLink (900mhz) instead of Bluetooth to connect to all of the Airthings sensors. 4ghz). The SmartLink range is much wider, and the hub keeps the data up to date automatically. br>br>This is fantastic because I no longer need to keep my phone within Bluetooth range. I can check on things from anywhere in the house or even while I'm not at home! br>br>The only thing I wish for is a WiFi hub; currently, the hub requires an Ethernet connection to function. It would be ideal if the hub could connect to the internet via WiFi.

I bought two Wave Pluses and a mini, and while they worked fine, they were extremely slow to update (bluetooth?)
5/5

Bleh). This hub increases 1000% speed and connectivity. Essentially, if you don't have the hub, you shouldn't buy airthings. Because I've discovered a significant radon problem, this is a must-have item.

This is a fantastic product that improves on an already fantastic sensor! It's an incredible product that's a must-have for anyone who owns an airthings monitor

Turns a Bluetooth-only option into a powerful web-accessible environment. Love it!.

I rarely write product reviews, but I was so impressed with the Airthings detectors and cloud-based software that I felt compelled to do so
5/5

I'd like to share my experience with a web-based hub. Initially, I bought a few mold and radon detectors, which worked flawlessly. It's very simple to set up and very precise. I soon had a sizable collection of mold and radon detectors, so I decided to invest in a hub to connect them all and allow for continuous monitoring and remote access. Overall, these devices have performed admirably and have greatly enhanced our ability to detect environmental issues in our home. In addition, the customer service has been excellent. Very quick to respond to questions and proactive in following up. There are stars all around you.

For Airthings devices, an Ethernet/AC connected Hub is a must, as it automates data collection
5/5

This hub is a must-have for Airthings users because it handles all background data uploads. Then, using the app or a computer, you can access your Airthings Dashboard from anywhere. br>br>Easy to set up; simply use the app to "link" each new Airthings device to the Hub, and the hub will handle firmware updates and data retrieval hourly. br>br>Excellent support staff, who are both responsive and knowledgeable.
