Thickening is a measure of how much something is?

The thickness of the box is roughly a quarter inch. My wall adhered well to the pads, but the pad fell off when it rained. If you want to mount it on another way, I recommend this.

Do you think that this will hold up some tools and parts for RC-modeling?

It was supposed to be "2 Pieces Pegboard Wall Mount Display Metal Pegboard Wall Panel Kits", but I received 2 plastic panels (injection molded).

I needed metal pegboards for my project and it seems like the description is misleading. It is hardened plastic and looks like good quality, but I needed hardened plastic for my project. As it turned out, the item was returned to the store.

You may rely on adhesive pads to a degree, but don't depend on them completely

As peg boards, they should do what they are supposed to do. If you use self-adhesive pads, they won't adhere well - you'll have to use screws instead. The size is perfect.

Nearly as good as it gets! It's an awesome product, but be mindful when removing it. It kept tearing off the drywall when removing it.

What I expected wasn't what I got

I wasn't expecting the boards to be so small, even though they were easy to hang. The boards were not strong enough to hold the weight of jewelry I bought them to display.
