This product works very well and keeps them from compressing over time

While looking at a level on the closed lid, I placed two pieces in different areas. I knew the shims would be difficult to cut with a utility knife after installation because they are very hard, which is good because they don't compress over time, so I placed the entire shim in place and estimated how much I would need to cut off. I then cut the shims with wire cutters, which were very easy to cut. I then gently tapped the shims into place with a screwdriver and a hammer, taking special care not to break the porcelain.

These were not available at any of the stores in town, including the big box stores. When we noticed our toilet was rocking, they helped us save money by extending its life. We had no idea toilets didn't have flat bottoms until recently. With an exacto knife, score the paper and then snap it off. I learned how to do it after watching a video on YouTube. Easy. This is an excellent product.

On a tiled floor, a smooth surface is not ideal

These shims are shifting between the bottom of the toilet and the ceramic tiled floor, and I can't seem to get them to stop. I only needed it for the toilet's front base. When stacked one on top of the other, they give me just the right amount of extra. I'm not sorry I tried this brand, but I'm going to order another one I tried last year.

The plastic is quite thick, and I'm not sure how to cut it in such a way that

Our toilet's rocking problem was solved with this method. However, I only needed a small portion of the tip of the shim to make 90 of the product visible. I'm not sure how to cut the plastic in such a way that it's not visible.

However, cutting them is a nightmare. In the end, I cut them with wire snips.

After installation, you won't be able to easily cut away the excess material. I'm currently using one of these in the back of the toilet, and it's a real eye-catcher.

I bought these to shim up my toilet, and they're great because they're plastic and won't mildew when exposed to water (which is important in bathrooms!)
