In my experience, I have found the product to be non-sticky and I haven't encountered issues with residue sticking to hardwood floors.

As part of having carpet installed in other rooms, I used this to cover and protect my existing hardwood floors and hardwood stairs (two different brands of engineered hardwoods with factory finishes). I am very satisfied with the results. After testing it on scraps for several days, I spent a couple of days on the actual floor to ensure that it wouldn't damage it. After having it down for four days, we pulled it up easily without destroying the floor on which it sat. I've never seen anything like this before. I was not able to adhere it to my floors in any way. There is no way to explain how disappointed I was. I believe it curled, lifted, or did anything you could think of. When we were carrying boxes, it actually created a hazard for us if we were to not step on it. The situation is not good.
