A 16 gauge stainless steel wire of such superior durability is hard to find. We have a tough time bending this thing! It was necessary for me to purchase 8" bolt cutters in order to cut rings for a chainmail product I'm developing. As yet I haven't figured this out, but if it ever gets dirty I will definitely put it in the dishwasher and see if it works. I will keep you posted!.
The bird toys I purchased were actually made from this. Based on another review, I purchased it since it was said to work well with that purpose. To make a great toy, the core should be stiff and thick enough to act as the skeleton. This stainless steel product is safer than other options because of its safety features.

Almost indestructible and very strong, this is a terrific product for a reasonable price. I wouldn't call it easy to work with, but knowing how tough it is makes it worthwhile.
I have not seen anything like it in the hardware store.
