I could not cut this stainless steel, as it was really hard to slice through. In general, this stock material will produce excellent shafts for most 3D printed projects with 4mm holes, which constitutes the majority of such projects. In the builders kit and the eeezybot on Pinterest, the shafts are 4mm.
