What pliers do I need to bend this with by hand? Is the slip joint plier able to bend this easily by hand? To make the 2 inch square rings, I am going to need to make some templates. ?

This is a very stiff item. When I use vice-grips, I keep both hands stable. This channel can be used by me The best way to gain leverage is by using pliers. The crescent wrench is also a tool I use. You could try 1/16" wire if you have any, but as I use 3/32" wire mainly for mounts and supports for cameras, it should be easy to use. A screw can be used to anchor the wire to a square wooden rod, and then you can wind the wire around the rod and cut the squares from there.

It was late to ship, but otherwise it was fine

It took longer than expected to ship. There is nothing wrong with the product, but I believe it is just 303 TIG filler rod, which can be purchased in bigger quantities for a lot cheaper per unit (per ft, per lb). The amount I needed was small (an inch of plywood, a sheet of acrylic, etc. ) but it was fine.

Is Iron Mike the real deal? The rod is made of stainless steel

The Titanium Betty is not as attractive as the Titanium Betty, but you cannot have it all. A rod is one of my favorite things. The stainless steel rods are a foot long, and they are ready to be threaded or machined or even transformed into kinetic sculpture by bending them into crazy shapes and forms. There is no limit to what you can achieve! If one fails, you have a spare so if one fails you can still use the other.
