316 Stainless Steel Round Rod, Unpolished (Mill) Finish, Annealed, AMS 5648, 0.25" Diameter, 36" Length

As well as my trim router, I wanted to add some 1/4" rod to the Bosch Deluxe Router Edge Guide (RA1054) so I could use it with my full size router as well as my trim A 3/8" diameter rod is included with the kit. The router base should be used with full sized routers. There are only a couple of differences between them, such as the thumb screws that Bosch guides use to lock in the rods. It worked like the guide I got from Bosch with my trim router and is compatible with all of my router bases. I purchased a 36" piece of this stainless and cut it in half - just like Uncle Bob. As a result, the rod was shipped in a very heavy cardboard tube and was further packed with crumpled paper in order to avoid moving as it traveled. Also included was a two page printout of the 'certified test report' which listed many of the specifications for this rod such as chemical analysis, hardness characteristics, etc. Not only for structural purposes, but also for medical, food, and other purposes as well. The hologram was kind of cool for me, but it wasn't essential. My choice of stainless steel rod was a decision I made since I wouldn't have to worry about rust in the shop room as I could purchase some plain steel rod for half the cost. I also like the way that it looks.
