We are providing priority mail shipping at the listed price. In order to avoid weight issues and damage to products, steel is not shipped in flat rate envelopes.
Instead of using 1080, we suggest using a tool steel like D2. For air quenched steels like D2 at our shop, we provide a heat treatment. However, for oil quenched steels like 1080, we do not provide a heat treatment. When it comes to oil quenching, Phenix Knives does a great job.
The hack saw is used every time I don't have the hack saw

Steel stocks are my favorite, and they've been out for a while so hopefully they come back with more products. A little bit wider than some of my other bar stock I've bought, and the 1080 appears to be more forgiving than 1095, which I have previously used, so the 1080 might come out of heat better than 1095. I'm feeling a lot better now that I'm being treated more effectively.
The price is good.
It seems every time I order from Texas Knifemakers, I get items of high quality. I am proud of you guys for the work you are doing.
Despite their descriptions, they are the same size.
The steel I purchased was made by my brother and was used to make a Kukri knife that I used to chop plants and bramble down in my backyard. It took him about six hours to forge and harden and it is a good knife. The seller is definitely trustworthy.
That isn't faux 1080 high carbon steel I bought from Ebay, that is genuine.
Both are made with 1080 steel. Heat treatment is very easy to do with this steel. In terms of steel dimensions, they agree with Texas's description. It was delivered within a short amount of time. Knives that are made to last.
