It would be useful for cutting blades for a leaf shredder if I used this steel What kind of heat-treatment service is there available that I can use that can handle the machined blades?

Instead of using 1080, we suggest using a tool steel like D2. For air quenched steels like D2 at our shop, we provide a heat treatment. However, for oil quenched steels like 1080, we do not provide a heat treatment. When it comes to oil quenching, Phenix Knives does a great job.

Knives made of my favorite material are my favorite
5/5

Steel stocks are my favorite, and they've been out for a while so hopefully they come back with more products. A little bit wider than some of my other bar stock I've bought, and the 1080 appears to be more forgiving than 1095, which I have previously used, so the 1080 might come out of heat better than 1095. I'm feeling a lot better now that I'm being treated more effectively.

Carbon steel of the highest quality
5/5

The steel I purchased was made by my brother and was used to make a Kukri knife that I used to chop plants and bramble down in my backyard. It took him about six hours to forge and harden and it is a good knife. The seller is definitely trustworthy.

The steel is great! I bought these two knives from Texas knife supply
5/5

Both are made with 1080 steel. Heat treatment is very easy to do with this steel. In terms of steel dimensions, they agree with Texas's description. It was delivered within a short amount of time. Knives that are made to last.
