What is the need for heat treating this? Can you tell me what would be the best method?

You must heat treat it, I heat it to non magnetic and quench in canola oil at 130° F.

In the interest of being upfront about my knowledge, I am new to knife making (but am excited about learning a new skill). I bought the item from this seller because I thought the cost was a little cheaper and I would be able to start sooner if I used Butcher paper was used to wrap the bars. It was straight across the board and I did not notice any Those who are new to the project should remember this tip In case you do not have a bandsaw or grinder, you can use these methods The rough shape of your cutting can be achieved pretty easily with a standard hacksaw. My knowledge of heat treating is limited at the moment, but I will update you as soon as it becomes possible.

In this case, what's happening? I purchased the product to use in knife making

The product arrived quickly, but I only received 2 bars out of a 4-pack, and they came in separate packaging, and I'm not certain which is which at the moment. Do you think there was an error? Where will the other half of this be? I would like to speak with someone about this. Who do I contact?.

The product is supposed to come in a 4-pack

Supposedly fulfilled by Amazon, sold by Patriot Steel. am not sure what happened, but I only received one (1) bar, even though the description stated a 4-pack. I am very disappointed in that regard. As for the steel, it is of good quality 1095, which is what I need for my project. I contacted Amazon about the issue and was told that a replacement will be sent. It will take some time to see if it will be worth 4 stars for now, I will only give it 3 stars.
