When we were using these to rivet blades, a master blacksmith exclaimed, "What kind of crap brass is this?" I was an apprentice for a master blacksmith, and when we were using these to rivet blades, he exclaimed, "What kind of crap brass is this?" " It did the job, but the metal is of poor quality. Furthermore, even with the lightest of taps, it is likely to split if you try to hammer it down to spread the material over a pre-drilled counter sync. DO NOT PURCHASE FOR THE PURPOSE OF BLADES! They are inexpensive, which is fine if you plan to use them for something else, but you get what you pay for in this case.
Rods are nice, and there are a lot of them. The plastic bag that held the rods was torn, and some of the rods were sticking out, as I'd read in other reviews. Fortunately, all of the rods were found, but I could have easily received a few that were missing.
In person, it's significantly smaller than the listing photo. br>It's only about four inches in length. The largest rod measures about 1/4 inch in diameter.
I was expecting something much bigger, but it turned out to be a lot smaller.
These 15-piece packages were ordered in twos. One arrived in perfect condition, while the other arrived in a resealable bag that had two ends torn open. Only 9 out of 15 pieces found their way to me. If missing pieces are replaced, I'll post an update.
This assortment was the best way to get small 7/64ths brass pins, which I needed.
Good quality, reasonable price, and prompt delivery.
It took only two days for this item to arrive. Scale pins are available in a variety of sizes made of solid brass. I'm going to use them to make scales for two knives I'm working on.
