This is great for repairing instruments! As I was restoring two mandolins, I used a couple of these rods to reinforce the neck joints! of these was a Gibson A3 mandolin with a crack in the heel, and the other was a non-branded two-point mandolin which had some troubles of its own

These two were perfect for putting into a vintage Gibson mandolin case. I glued up the hole with hot hide glue after I drilled it.

These rods are strong and solid, but have a diameter slightly beyond Although they are strong rods, they are over D 3mm, so they couldn't go through any of my bearings with a 3mm ID

The following has been updated A very thin sandpaper was used on the surface to make it look like it has been sanded a little bit. As of now, everything is working fine.
