Fiberglass resin is used to apply this cloth to wood or metal. Carpet can be applied to any smooth surface in the same way that it can be applied to any other smooth surface. There isn't a specific adhesive for marine carpet that I'm aware of.

Is styrene used as a binder for this product? Is it possible to use epoxy with it?

It contains a silane binder that can be used with polyester, epoxy, and vinylester resins. It's powder bound, so it's a little easier to separate than emulsion bound, and it wets out quickly.

There isn't much to say about it because it's a fiberglass mat. I'd read somewhere that if the package is folded, you shouldn't buy it because fiberglass strands are strong when pulled but break when bent. When I unfolded this product, I noticed some broken fibers in the places where it was folded. However, I continued to use it, and when everything was epoxied in place, it still created a sturdy structure. I would buy it again for the price and speed.

If you live near a supply house, you can get it for a third of the price and with much better quality. This stuff isn't fun to work with.

It's simple to cut to the desired shape and adjust the fit as needed. Although I used a bondo mix for the matt, it will undoubtedly work with whatever medium you choose. It was perfect for moving the gas tank fill from outside to inside the trunk of my 41 Chevy.
