It is a soft cloth lining that is usually used under a cast to keep the skin protected. Also, it can be used to protect an injured area when placing a boot on it after surgery.
Cotton IS NOT used in the manufacture of this product. A question about this material was answered by OrthoOutlet in a listing for this same tubing in a 3" size. "The fabric is made from polyester," they said. My experience with this material has been that it does not shrink at all, even when washed in hot water and dried with a high temperature dryer. There's no doubt about the fact that it's In any case, it does not get hot while you are wearing it, unlike Your skin feels soft when you touch it. It isn't cotton, though you can still tell.

Buying the pink one before the purple I was really pleased with the pink because it was so stretchy and comfortable under my knee brace but the purple was stiff fabric with no stretch to it.
Because it is big, I do not like it. It was my fault. By ordering a smaller size I should have been able to fix the problem.
I was very pleased with the product. Delivery was super quick and the quality was excellent.
There is an issue with the sleeves being very Rather, 4 is the real measurement. Instead of the advertised 4", the size is 5". The thickest part of my calf is about 9" at its widest because of fusions of the ankle. Since the 4" size is advertised as stretching double, I hoped it would fit well, but it stretches so much that Despite my efforts to shrink the tube, I had no success washing it and drying it in the dryer on high heat. In spite of the material being synthetic polyester, the size remained the same and it was equally stretchy (This comes from the seller's response to a question asked in the previous listing for the same tubing, where the seller said the material is ". . . Buying this and thinking it is cotton is a mistake. Although it is soft and doesn't feel hot, the material isn't as thick as you might think. I only ordered the 3" and it fits much better and is the next size up.
Only if you have a very large or muscular leg should you order this size. It would be best to size down for most people. As this is a summer heat wave, I have relegated this size to line the bottom of my boot and the back of my boot so I don't accumulate sweat there. While it is effective and can be used for that purpose, it is an expensive material.
