In the pre- A teen with a broken arm plus covid restrictions during the summer heat. Having to deal with such a situation is probably not pleasant. This meant that we were unable to ride bikes, go on boats, or play basketball, but we could swim in the lakes, rivers, and local pools and still be able to enjoy the summer. After a week, I took this to the doctor's office instead of the traditional cast. The doc was grateful to have it for size information instead of the regular cast. It is an amazing product that lets kids swim after the first week, and it is as comfortable to wear as a cast. Compared to the drug store arm covers, these are much more comfortable and work much better if they are working properly and do not contain toxic materials It is true. This waterproof cast liner will work if your doctor does not have one on hand. Hope we never need to buy again. I'd buy again if the need arose. We purchased two in case we needed to replace the cast before the original was worn out. Since we didn't need it, the spare was donated to the doctor for someone else.
We highly recommend getting extra product, as the cast could be felt after it had been placed. Moleskin was used around the cast's top and bottom to provide protection from the fiberglass. Also, the blue tape that goes over the saw should be applied properly. In the end, I was told it was not needed (by the person who put on the cast) and my child's arm was cut during removal of the cast. As for the rest, the skin was good. There was a little dryness, but there was no odor.
There is definitely a difference between a cast that is waterproof and one that is not. The cost was well worth it.
We are grateful to the company that developed such a great product after our son broke his arm this year. Swimming with the cast was a big hit with the group and many of the other adults expressed how cool it was for him. I highly recommend this book!.
Our son could not wear his normal wrist brace, so this waterproof liner saved the day.
You will find that the casting supies are a bit tight at first, but when put in the water it will become more snug, just like a regular cast when you have it for a few.
