My company buys this material in bulk and I have used it several times. My biggest issue with this product has been the erratic working time that is affected by the ambient temperature. I set up everything first and work fast. In order to achieve perfect alignment, there must be no gaps. You should ensure your padding is ample! A thick cottony padding along with a cottony sleeve that is next to the skin. It is not necessary to open the casting material until this is done and the alignment is correct. You will likely want to use a 3" or 2" roll depending on which part of the animal or appendage you are working on. Fiberglass does not disintegrate in water, so this is a fiberglass ring. That's for sure, why wouldn't it be able to do that? Is there anything more specific you had in mind? I think the answer to your question is a simple yes since it is so broad. If you do this, it is up to your imagination. Just make sure that it won't be consumed from any food you might put it on. I don't think anyone would be harmed by it, The kids and I have built volcanoes with it, we have made masks with it, we have repaired a broken rake with it, I used it to fix a neighbor's broken pipe with it, and it held up until they could get a plumber There is no doubt that this stuff could be put to many different uses. You can buy it in major home improvement stores as well as online as a product called Fiberfix but it's really expensive, so it's way better to buy the Scotchcast.
