Because I have large calves (16), I had been looking for compression socks that fit properly. Circumference: 5). These are the first jeans that fit the sizes that they claim to fit. I wish I had discovered this brand first, as it would have saved me the trouble of having to return multiple pairs of shoes.
These were exactly what I needed for my extra-large calves, so I purchased them. I'm an 18-year-old woman who carries the majority of her weight in her hips. When ordering boots, I usually go for wide calf boots because regular boots won't fit over my calves. I was hoping these socks would work, but they're so tight that they leave indentations in my skin right away. I understand that compression socks should be snug, and I've been wearing them for a year. But I needed more, and I wanted some that were prettier than my plain black socks, which I already own; however, I'm afraid to wear these for long enough to see if they stretch out a little. Because, while compression socks are beneficial, I'm sure they aren't supposed to cut off your circulation and cause pain. Wearing this sock hurts my left leg, which is swollen from arthritis. I'm not sure what their definition of "wide calves" or "plus size" is, but these socks don't appear to be designed for people who have truly wide calves.
This is a sock I really like. My score is a 15. Calf is 5 inches long. I liked these socks a lot. They came all the way up to my knee, and I'm a tall woman (5'9" female). The sock had a roomy foot and ankle. Above the ankle, compression began. If your calf is more than 15 inches long, The sock will not reach your knee if it is shorter than 5 inches. With your calf girth, you'll take up a lot of space. They're also generously sized.
They fit perfectly, and they are far superior to the drab hospital gowns.
These are the first compression socks I've purchased that are both comfortable and effective. I'm a big guy with a lot of weight on my shoulders. 5'10" and weighing more than 300 lbs. My calves are large, but they aren't excessively so because I'm tall. These have just the right amount of compression and are the perfect height. Although I can see that some of the pairs fit slightly differently, they all fit, which is wonderful.
It's a pain to get on and off because it's so tight. Not only at calf level, but even just getting on my feet is a challenge. br>It's extremely hot and stuffy. I suppose they do what they're supposed to do, but they make me miserable to wear. I've tried a few others that aren't as difficult, so I'm guessing these aren't designed for comfort. br>I'm let down.
These are fantastic in general. The knee area is a little too tight. Because I participate in a variety of sports, my calves are larger than most, which is an important factor.
