After getting wet for the first time, it became rusted. Stainless steel is definitely not one of them. When I got a pair wet, they rusted right away. br>Aside from that, they're solid, so if rust isn't a concern, you'll be fine.
The hemostats do not open and close with one hand as expected, so I bought them for use in my nursing practice. I'm guessing these couldn't be sold to medical centers because they were defective and are now sold to laypeople on Amazon who don't know any better or forget to return these within 30 days because a few of the nurses passed around the hemostats and laughed at the product and how cheap the teeth are. Meh. It was impossible to keep it shut. There were a few missing teeth. There has been far too much time spent attempting to conform to specifications. This is one of those items where you should just spend a few extra dollars and get a good pair of hemostats. These are clearly made on a shoestring budget. As soon as you take them out of the box, you'll be able to tell. If you're lucky enough to get a box at all. They haven't been given any thought at all. So, meh.
They're less expensive, but they need to be dressed and filed to stay locked. They are, however, likely to be worth the $8.
Trash. When the straight pair jaw was locked on to two sheets of printer paper, it broke. These are not stainless steel, despite what the description claims. Although it has a gleaming exterior, the interior appears to be made of aluminum. I'll be back as soon as I possibly can.
These will be returned. They're too big and clumsy to be useful. For a set of hemostats, the metal is ridiculously heavy. They're wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy too long, and don I'm a pet groomer who works with 9-inch shears on a daily basis, so I'm not used to working with anything smaller. They appear to be much larger than the measurements provided. The lock feature is also a complete disaster. It's so tight that unclasping it takes a lot of effort, and then it'll lock up while you're trying to use it. They can't be used to grab at something small (like ear hair) where the bottom tips need to be touching because they'll lock up. Don't be a slacker.
I expected them to be a little bigger, but that's fine because I'll be using them for crafts. It's a very sturdy and well-made item. When you close them (lock them), they remain closed. I would buy it again and recommend it to others. My son had expressed an interest in trying some.
Although the quality appears to be satisfactory, I am disappointed that the pliers' noses are so long. I was hoping for some that were a little shorter, like the ones shown. These aren't the best for fishing; shorter ones would have been far better.
