There is a picture of a handle with a #11 surgical blade embedded in it, uploaded by one of the purchasers. The tool is designed to hold a #11 surgical blade, but it is not really safe for the blade to be held, even in the photo you can see the hole that would be used for a real tool made for a scalpel. The handle of a scalpel blade is referred to as a scalpel blade. As much as I can tell, I think they are trying to sell off the exact overstock of fancy blade handles for this item. In the event that you apply a box cutting force in conjunction with this tool, you will render this tool unsafe. Please Do Not Purchase This for Use with Surgical Blades!.
It is a finely crafted product that feels great in the hand and has a knurled edge for a sure Suitable for #11 X- and up The scalpel blades of # 11 should not be used as acto This handle was supposed to be used with inexpensive #11 scalpel blades (as advertised), but the #11 blades are too long, and would be too wobbly in the There is a cross-shaped blade clamp on the blade itself My hacksaw has fine-toothed cutting teeth, so I used it to make one cut deep enough to accommodate the #11 scalpel blade. If you use either type of blade in the correct slot, you will be fine. I should not have done this, so four stars go to the manufacturer. One word should be changed in the advertisement Do not scalpel) to get.
I use it for model building, and I cut a lot of balsa wood. A good fit was found between the blades. I often have to retighten the handle halves or the blade clamp to prevent this from happening.
While I am cutting I needed to use a scalpel blade that will prevent my hands from getting hurt. The surgical blades come with handles and I use them with #11 surgical blades. When I used that handle, I would suffer injuries to my hands. We designed this handle to solve that problem while looking great and feeling great at the same time.
There is a misprint on this product. It does not accept #11 The craft blades do work perfectly on it however, even the "normal" Xacto type.
I am very pleased with this.
